Interesting fight for sure. I may actually go Chitalada, as he's taller with the better jab and fleeter foot. That's hard to beat IMO, but Roman does have the tools to. He could absolutely draw a lead from Chitalada, like others did. If he does, I think his array of feints, combination punching and long mummy guards, with his head-movement and diverse footwork, means Roman out-boxes him. But if Chitalada has it drilled into him that he shouldn't go after Roman, I think his jab and movement take it. Essentially, whoever plays matador, and if neither do, Chitalada. Gun to my head, Chitalada.
Interesting, because I was thinking Roman, but you've succeeded in giving me pause. There's no doubt Chit was more physically gifted, but Roman had the more complete skill set and higher ring IQ, imo.
I agree. I think Chitalada was almost young Ali-esque. Not entirely devoid of Ring IQ or skills - on the contrary, in fact. Both wonderfully skilled and very smart, just not quite as smart at their comparisons - and generally got buy defensively on immense talent with great footwork and jabs. Obviously Ali was better.
