Every Katsuya Onizuka fight is a nice war. Imagine him vs Quigora!

I was just thinking about it. It could have been a unification fight in the early 90s.

Onizuka having the bigger firepower and better combinations probably edges it in his favor. Quiroga wasn't much of a banger.

Watching his war with Hyung Chul Lee now.

Chul Lee was another poor man's Moon.

I think I have this one saved to my hard drive, Xplosive. I got it off a Boxing torrent site a while ago.

Also @Xplosive, if you see something you like on youtube, try and download it. I started ever since a Midget Wolgast bout was removed and have never been able to find it. It's like it completely disappeared.

If you could upload Davila-Duarte 1, that would be awesome!

    Davila's best performance IMO.

Rewatched Jorge Lujan vs Alfonso Zamora.

Lujan was superb at his best. A really, really good technician. I wonder how many elite bantamweights he might have beaten on the night he fought Zamora.

    Imo he outboxes Canizales.

Alberto Davila vs Frankie Duarte 1

Round 1. Davila springs out, immediately sharp, with Duarte a more sluggish contrast. What is apparent is how insanely well schooled Davila is, but also how much more physically imposing Duarte is in comparison. Still, Davila is the boss this round, and leads with a perfect left hook counter to punctuate the finish.

Davila again having his own way in round 2. Brilliant Boxing technique and well placed aggression, completely negating Duarte with fencing left handed leads. This is how a shorter man should box. Duarte landing some nice right hands late, but he is clearly lesser boxing wise to the energetic, buttery 'Pale Skin'.

A perfect baiting dip and a short, left hook shot to create an almost picturesque knockdown. Davila had been setting this up early, constantly dipping as he jabbed before now changing levels. Duarte not hurt but is stunned! Davila keeping to his fluid boxing, countering with screw shots, mixing offense and defense. Duarte working now, again towards the end, but he is being outclassed.

Duarte pushing forward now with sheer guts and getting Davila to the ropes. A turn around after round 3, but he is still constantly countered and outmaneuvered.

Duarte still getting closer now, but outfoxed comprehensively. I like how Davila smothers punches inside, where he should be in danger, with his forehead and forearms. Masterful skill is on show. Flow continues steadily - until Davila lands a vicious right hand off the hook to hurt Duarte. He is shook. Up he gets, but Davila seizes the day and ferociously puts him down again, with an explosive combination. Duarte again gets up - damn game - but Davila pounds him until the ref has no choice. The fight is stopped.

A vicious, stand out finish for Davila. Indeed a brilliant performance and an underrated win. It definitely solidified me as a fan.

In a way, it was similar to Zaire. Watson didn’t spend as much time on the ropes as Ali, but he did go there and outfought Benn off the ropes. In the middle of the ring, they did the same thing. Watson doing his peek-a-boo defense, Benn in love with his power and continuously loading up on shots, mostly hitting glove, while Watson landing the cleaner shots. Straight shots up the middle, or short hooks.

Yeah, Scypion was one of Marv's better performances.

I personally feel Obelmejias 1 was his best performance. Either that, or the Sibson fight.

I find his accuracy most amazing.

Damn near every combo he threw all managed to land.

    His an amazing fighting machine.

Honestly, from his title winning mugging of Alan Minter to the aforementioned whooping he gave Scypion in his 7th defense, there’s really nothing to fault. He was like the Secretariat of boxers, “moving like a tremendous machine!”

Watched Yokthai Sithoar vs Jesus Rojas.

Good fight, and without scoring it, Sithoar won clearly.

It actually wasn't that good. It had a great second round but Ward sorta shelled up and backed off afterwards.

    Watched:
    Millet vs. Phillips
    Ricardo Williams vs. Millet
    Castillo vs. Ngoudju

The Castillo fight was a little frustrating because Lederman's scoring was so bad. But it was a good fight.

Couldn't get through all of the Williams fight.

And as far as Millet vs. Phillips, I totally agree with X that Phillips was horribly weight drained. He looked like shit the minute the bell rang. And besides being hurt by nearly every shot Millet landed, Phillip's power didn't seem to be there either.

Rewatched Chocolatito vs Omar Salado for the second time.

Now wondering how a Choc vs Yuh matchup goes down at 108 considering I just watched them back-to-back.

Gomez was a machine of an offensive fighter.

Also rewatched Orlando Canizales vs Billy Hardy II.

Canizales was superb in that fight... too good for Sahaprom, @George Crowcroft lol
