It also doesn't appear he'll need a knockout of the year type shot to end matters.

garcia is a lot taller than davis but he's right there, flat footed and real easy to hit to the head and body.

I hear what you're saying and i haven't forgotten either. If that's Garcia rather than Santa Cruz unloading with the same volume Davis probably gets stopped. The problem is i don't think Garcia has the defense required to avoid that big shot or the chin to handle one. It just seems inevitable.

I've only been able to see Campbell's knockdown and Garcia's finish. How competitive/close was it?

Probably yeah. All three are talented and dangerous but Lopez is the most well rounded and mature.

Hopefully he really learns from it and improves rather than celebrating as if it's some automatic entry into another level. No problem with him or his team being proud, but this is kind of bare minimum for world class boxing.

This result answers some questions about Garcia but raises new ones too. Still not sure what to make of the guy.

The 1st of MANY Steps Still to Be Taken, But if NATHAN Else the Whole "Just an IG Model" Perception Has Been FLUSHED Down the Toilet...

Garcia's More Than THAT, For Certain...

Remains to Be Seen if He'll WIN a Title, DEFEND a Title, Win MULTIPLE Titles, etc., but we DO Know He's More Than Just a "Pretty" Face...

Yeah, I'm less concerned about Ry being this P4P level fighter - he is almost certainly not.

I'm just relieved that he's not a bitch.

He'll get KO'd by Tank, and Lopez (and by Taylor and Prograis), but at least he'll go down fighting.

Obviously he's not as talented as a young Amir Khan but I can see his career unfolding the same way. Lots of speed, lots of heart, lots of power but a glass jaw. Like you say he's no bitch and will go down swinging. Can't hate a fighter like that.

Yeah, I saw that comparison years ago.

Like you said, Khan was more talented - especially in terms of footspeed and fluidity.

I will say, Ry appears to have more power than Khan.

Garcia would do VERY WELL to have a career as good as Khan's.

    I suspect he won't.

I don't see why people take Garcia stoppage of Campbell as some sort of indictment of Lomachenko.

Garcia, as suspected, is a flawed fighter.

After Clenelo, I can't wait to see Garcia get iced.

What boxing has come to. A little grifting Internet bitch is a "Star" because he got knocked down and got back up.

It used to be that getting decked by Luke Campbell or his sort counted AGAINST stardom..

    "I'm a star I'm a star wheres my crown"

Did Freitas become a "star" after he we to to the UK and got up off the mat to KO the utterly average non punching Colin Jones?

    No.

At this point, Garcia just winning off his size, much like Chavez Jr. did.

I think Frietas iced another guy in the UK - forgot his name.

Not Colin Jones. Colin Jones was a welter and a HUGE puncher.

    Edit: It was BARRY Jones.

Yep it was Barry Jones, a total non puncher. When I was typing "Colin" I was sure I was making a mistake but couldn't tell why.

Barry Jones dropped Freitas, who immediately became pfp #1 as he got up to win and Eder Jofre ran into the ring after him with a plastic crown and Freitas cried "I am a star, I am a star".

I heard Barbra Streisand RETIRED when she heard about it.

His celebration was a bit much. My girl who knows fuck all about boxing was watching the fight with me and also thought his celebration was a bit too flamboyant lol. Considering he beat Campbell not Lopez or Loma. In Ryans defense I enjoyed this fight and if he can get all those IG followers or whatever to tune in its a good day for boxing.

Cant blame the kid for that celebration. He became a WC. That's a hell of an accomplishment

Yeah. And Garcia still dwarfed him.
