Add the connections to the fact that DAZN themselves know fuck all about boxing. Mannix would have been laughed out of an HBO/Showtime interview room.
The really annoying guy is the blow by blow guy (the Brian Kenny alternative). He's always making smart-ass borderline racist remarks to Sergio Mora.
Everyone on DAZN is shit. Worst £2 I ever spent. I could honestly do a better job of the analysis, blow-by-blow, predictions and scoring on my own while heavily drinking. I'd probably offend Sergio Mora more while I'm at it
Mannix and Mora dislike eachother. Much as I dont like The Latin Fake, its not his fault- Mannix is a detestable human being. Grossly arrogant and condescending, and just seems like a bitter dude. Like the typical sports journalist who's secretly jealous of athletes. Kellerman can be arrogant himself, but we tend to give Max a pass because Max legitimately knows the sport. Mannix does not, therefore his arrogance is just infuriating. He's being called the white Stephen A. Smith when it comes to boxing.
To me, Kellerman has a good knowledge of the sport's history. Nothing crazy, but good. He'd look like a fucking genius to the random casual, but he wouldn't be able to keep up with Me, Rough or Lach. His analysis is solid as well, but not out of this world. He shits all over most other 'experts' though. His commentary is fucking shite.
To be fair to Max, he was a young prodigy when it came to boxing knowledge. He's been fanatical about boxing from a VERY young age, and in the late 90s/early 00s you could tell how passionate and fanatical he was. He's not really the same guy anymore, as he's now a big wig at ESPN, and has to wear a lot of hats - and as a result he doesn't have time to watch old fights on YT the way we're able to everyday. He's paid a multi-million dollar salary to analyze all sports now, not just boxing, so it has to be put into perspective. I don't think he loves boxing any less than we do. He's not a pretender the way Mannix is, he really has lived boxing since he was a kid.
All those guys were better circa 2000 - Brian Kenny, Max Kellerman, and Teddy Atlas. Kenny was actually quality, insightful, and OBJECTIVE. Not he's just an insufferable company shill. Max was a lot more passionate, and seemed more down-to-Earth. It seems the money and fame has made the current Kellerman a bit snobby. And Atlas was still preachy and annoying, but he was LESS preachy and annoying than he is now. All three fell off hard.
