Scott was also a really good fighter, and that was the best performance of his career.

Not a viable criticism for Gregory, I’m afraid. He looked like that in every fight. He also won the first round against Scott with grace and ease.

Yep, you're right - I forgot that one. Opposition wise, Gregory is a better win though.

Johnson just punched himself out against Muhammed. The knockout he was going for just didn't come in time. But he was winning rounds.

Everyone was winning rounds against Saad until he came on and blasted them out - it wasn't unique to Johnson.

Irrc at the time, there was a loophole for convicts in the usa to get out of jail if they managed to prove that they were exceptional persons. Scott goal was to become WC in order to get release

I'm glad Saad had the morality to not being the title to jail. Y'know, it's a good thing. But I so wish he did, because Scott vs Saad woulda been awesome. And Scott's hype would completely evaporate if Spinks went in there and took his head off.

Scott lost to Martin and was effectively done as a fighter before Spinks even won the title.

Had he kept winning and building his profile, maybe it woulda generated enough interest to Spinks to travel to Rahway and beat him.

Scott was going on 31 years old when he had his big shot against Gregory. If he’d just robbed and murdered that guy earlier in his life he could’ve had a life sentence in the rankings.

Either one should be too strong and uptempo for Rossman.

I would agree. Although Martin stylewise probably never pulls an upset over Galindez, I think Martin is all wrong for Rossman.

On the particular night in which Rossman beat Galindez, I think Martin would have an excellent shot at doing the same. Galindez was a dead man walking coming into the ring that night.
