For some reason, I was never quite as high on that movie as most other people are. I think River Kwai and Zhivago are the better David Lean films.

 

I thought LOA was a terrific movie, but I agree River Kwai was better, and is arguably the best movie of the 50s.

Never saw Zhivago, so can't judge. I'll get around Zhivago soon.

 

The Lion in The Winter is a great 60s movie. Arguably top 5
