Stephen A's a Blowhard for Sure, But His POINT Was How Many Black Coaches w/ZERO Head Coaching Experience Were Hired to Coach a Team as LOADED as the Nets Are/Were @ the Time???...

People Reference Fish and Kidd, But They WEREN'T Put in Charge of Teams Predicted to Not Only WIN their Conferences and Possibly a Championship PRIOR to Being Hired...

But SAS is missing the point. He’s spoken before about the power that superstars wield and if Kawhi Leonard can make the Clippers give up multiple draft picks to sign Paul George and Harden can make the Rockets do the same for Russell Westbrook not to mention all the other past crap he’s forced them to do, then surely Durant and Irving have the power to make the Nets hire whatever coach they wanted. It doesn’t matter if this never happened with a black coach, if Irving and Durant had asked for a black coach that’s exactly what they would have got.

In fact we have proof of that as Woj reported that it was Durant who pushed the Nets to trade for Harden. SAS can die on the Nash’s hire was white privilege but you don’t have to Reed.

Apparently Houston had Brooklyn and Philly bidding against each other and I assume Houston chose a Nets deal that probably offered more draft picks over a 76ers deal that probably had less picks and Ben Simmons. I would have done the same thing because I think Simmons is severely overrated. He’s an allstar not a superstar and the fact he shoots with the wrong hand suggests he’s never going to be an even decent shooter. He's also never shown the work ethic or consistently good play of other non-shooters like Giannis or even Westbrook. I’ve also heard his shooting workout videos are propaganda and that he isn’t even really working on shooting the way he tries to portray.

So yeah I wouldn’t have wanted that guy either.

REED Fails to See What One Has to Do w/the Other...

Again, Name a BLACK Coach w/ZERO Coaching Experience on Any Level, of Any Sort, that was Gifted a CHAMPIONSHIP Caliber Team Right Out of the Gate???...

No, KD and Kyrie Didn't Speak Up on Behalf of a Black Coach, Likely Because They Had NO OPINION Of Any Coach Whatsoever...Again, What Does That Have to Do w/Stephen A's Point???

For the Record, REED Isn't Even Saying the Nash Hire was an Example of White Privilege and REED's Always Liked/Respected Nash's Game...But Stephen A's Overall Point was Still a VALID One, However...

I think nash having a relationship from coaching Durant was the major factor

If you agree the Nash hire likely wasn’t based on white privilege how can you feel that SAS has a point here? What he said may be factually true, but it doesn’t make any sort of relevant point. If anything it seems to be a case of improperly pulling the race card.

Kristaps Porzingis is back. Go ahead and start the clock for his next upcoming season ending injury. I give him a couple games into the playoffs.

I seriously think Russ might be washed. He’s been horrible this season and there’s something different about him. It’s like he feels this is Beal’s team so he doesn’t play balls to the wall (or he can’t). I saw him injure his finger in a game and he bolted off the floor. It felt like he couldn’t wait to leave, almost like he can feel how bad he’s playing. He’s also been one of the worst candidates of playing fake NBA defense that the league has ever seen and has really ramped it up on the Wizards.

Hopefully this is just a small sample size as he had a similar situation play out in Houston right before he started playing like an allstar again but I honestly think this is it for him.

what did you expect? a low IQ player with waning athleticism is bound to fall the fuck off quickly.

its a shame the nets couldnt acquire beal rather than harden

I disagree Westbrook is low IQ. His biggest detriments are also the very things that makes him great and that is his intensity, passion, and emotion. It’s great in the open court when he’s attacking the basket or exploding off the dribble but his inconsistent shooting I believe is a direct result of his fiery emotions. He often overshoots because he’s so hyped up on intensity and emotion and he’s never learned to channel or control it. It’s also why he’s constantly talking smack and getting into it with other players as the other day Rajon Rhondo used that emotion to get Russ ejected by pushing Russ’ buttons until Russ got a bit too physical and was thrown out on his second technical. By the way the worse Russ plays the more he seems to get into verbal matches with other players and I saw him get into it with another player 4 games in a row. He’s my pick to easily lead the league in technicals this season.

On the other hand he may not be done yet. Word is he was dealing with a quad injury and has looked a lot better as of late. He went for 41 against Durant and the Nets and even hit the game winning three to seal it.

Watched my OKC team get beat by the Rockets who shot 48% from three only to turn around and beat those same Rockets two days later as the Rockets only hit 28% of their threes.

One thing I’ve noticed watching a few Rockets games is the play of Demarcus Cousins. He hasn’t been terrible but I think he could improve by focusing less on the referees and more on playing basketball. He’s spending too much time and energy whining and arguing with the refs over fouls he’s called for on defense and fouls he’s not getting on offense. Fouls seem to be a real mental issue with him as he’s even made several attempts to draw charges but will often fail to be outside the restricted area and once again getting a call on him leading to more whining and complaining. He’s also resorted to flopping and lurching during moderate contact failing more often than not to get calls.

His mobility looks bad but his three point shot has looked good. I’d like to think this foul stuff is him trying to survive in the league after injuries and losing some of his game but I believe he was doing this stuff even before all the surgeries. Overall I think he just needs to focus on playing and let the calls come where they may.

When ESPN’s player rankings came out in December and Russ dropped from 12 to 36, I thought that was a slap in the face. Now I think he’s actually a lot higher than 36.

Reports are that it’s just a sore achilles along with a calf injury. He’s possible for a return after the allstar break.

Well Lebron wants another MVP and here’s his best chance to make a big impression. Keep the Lakers winning with Davis down and Lebron’l make a great case for himself.

the short break between the finals and the start of this season didnt help a guy like davis who has never been the most durable.

Thing with Davis though, he may be injury prone but at least it’s just a bunch of little nicks, bruises and stuff that only requires rest. At least he isn’t like Porzingis and needs a major surgery every season while missing months at a time. Knicks were smart to move on from him.

I wonder if the fact AD doesn’t play through minor injuries is the reason he doesn’t get major injuries that often. I believe he’s only had surgery on his shoulder (labrum) and a procedure done on his knee.

That's One Way of Looking @ It...But it Also Adds to the Perception of AD Being SOFT...

For a BIG, He's Always Getting Knocked to the Floor and Everytime He Falls it Seems SOMETHING is Hurt...

Seriously, if You Played a Drinking Game Predicated On the Number of Times AD Falls, Grimaces or Outwardly Displays Pain PER GAME, You'd Be Shit Faced Drunk By the End of it...

AD Adds to This Perception By Taking More Perimeter Shots vs. Paint Shots...He DOESN'T Like the Contact...At All...

No, AD Doesn't Have Porzingis' History of Surgeries, But Porzingis Isn't Labeled SOFT Either...

i agree about utah, and Davis being soft. although utah did fight till the end, its hard to see them beating a full strength clipper team.

as for airballing free throws, i just found his reaction amusing. the guy is a tremendous athlete but sure doesnt have much of a poker face :Jest:
