Good question. Probably Golovkin. I would say Tszyu had a bit more ability (not much), but what edges it in Golovkin's favor is that he has a MUCH MUCH better chin. I also feel like Golovkin's ring IQ is higher than Tszyu's.
I'm going back and forth on this one. GGG probably impressed me more by blasting bums, but still, I'm not sure he as victories as good as Tszyu (which is saying a lot since Zoo didn't exactly beat a murderers row)
I just feel like Golovkin peaked higher. Neither one had a resume for the ages, but Tszyu is greater. You asked better, and for me, that's GGG.
yeah but the two are hard to separate. being a can beater is fun and can seems impressive, but does it really shows your worth as a fighter??? I wonder if GGG would have disposed of a Judah like level fighter (early stoppage notwithstanding) as easily as Zoo did. And when I'm thinking about his performance against Jacob (which wasn't as good as Judah imo), I tend to think that the answer is no
Most people believe an aging GGG outfought a prime Canelo in their 1st fight, and many even believe he won the rematch as well (though I thought Canelo edged it). That would make G the only one of the two that can claim to have outfought an ATG/HOFer in his prime. Aside from that, I think Tszyu's 2 losses (and the circumstances surrounding them) place him below G.
Kostya is greater, GGG is better IMO. They're pretty similar, although I think GGG was way tougher with better stamina. He's just a bit more of a robust talent. Very strong, hits harder, pretty quick, iron chin and good skills. Tszyu's skills are a little better IMO, buy GGG doesn't have a stylistic weakness like KT has against pressure fighters. I've never been one to hold losses against a fighter when talking about their legacies (I don't think a loss takes anything away from a fighter, it just shows their limitations and H2H ability). So Tszyu's loss to Phillips isn't a big issue for me here, especially if the rumours of him being ill are true. Kostya has a much better résumé. Anyone can jump in here, but would you say that KOing Judah in two is akin to if GGG KOed prime Jermain Taylor in two? I'd say Judah was probably a bit more talented than Taylor, bit didn't accomplish anywhere near as much.
