In thinking about it, it's clear that fights I watched live rank the highest. And I'm not willing to perform the mental gymnastics I'd need to overcome that bias. Thus: Corrales/Castillo I Trinidad/Vargas Morales/Barrera Pacquiao/JMM I Ward/Gatti I Vazquez/Marquez III Gonzalez/Letterlough PBF/Castillo I Bowe/Holyfield I Mosley/ODH I
When I say live, I don't mean in person. The best fights I've seen in person are: Leykovich vs. Brewster Guillermo Jones vs. Braithwaite
I mean the same thing as you. Havent reslly seen a live-in person fight that was good. Best one was probably Adam green vs Stephanen Desormier, but it wasnt thatngood bar the come from behind last round finish, and they were two clubfighters
Here's my list:- it's of fights that most people here either saw live or saw very very shortly after they happened. My criteria are atmosphere, action, quality of the combatants and especially those fights which went the distance or got close to going the distance. Late shifts in momentum are worth considering too. Very easy to have 2, 3, 4 rounds of mayhem, harder to keep it going for 12. Ward vs Gatti Froch vs Pascal Froch vs Kessler Wlad vs Joshua Pac vs Marquez {the draw} Barrera vs Morales McKinney vs Barrera {Barrera had an attitude problem that thankfully got fixed down the line} Scott Dixon vs Derek Roche- you've never heard of it but the 7th round- after what happened in the 6th- and 9th rounds are two of the better rounds of boxing in British Title history at least. Scott Dixon rattled off hooks in the 9th round that nobody with his physique should have been able to do. Great fight and deserved a better audience and promotion than it got. Video features Poetry Corner with Christopher Livingston Eubank {yes that's his name} at the end, and, yes, he's doing actual poetry. Eubank vs Thompson I I'll finish the list later, I am sure I've seen 2 more good fights to fill out the list.
