I dislike both guys so I’m having a hard time rooting for either.

But the last time I saw of Billy Hoe in action was not very convincing to me.

He’s honestly never impressed me and I suspect Canelo would beat him up.

Shame. I was looking forward to Canelo shutting up that mouthy prick. Well, for a few seconds at least. Saunders never shuts up.

alvarez vs saunders reminds me of delahoya vs camacho. probably the only fight where i wanted delahoya to win and hoped it would be in brutal fashion.

Saunders is getting beat, but only after he exposes Canelo for the little fat man that he is.

Anyone changed their tune on this one? Can Saunders pull off the upset?

You know you look at Khan vs Canelo and you think there's no reason why Saunders can't go out there and show this guy up for a few rounds.

Where I fear for Saunders is not regards his acumen, or his know how, or his bravery.

Where i fear for him is that Alvarez has world class conditioning camps to drag every last mile out of his frame, world class drugs, sparring, and he's active and he's always been active.

Saunders has never really been active. He's had extended periods of nothing, getting fat.

Sure, he's dropped the weight. But does he have 12 rounds of frustrating Alvarez in him?

Alvarez has fought guys like Saunders- Lara, for example.

Saunders best wins? Andy Lee, Eubank, LeMoo. In the Lee and Eubanks fight he faded down the stretch. LeMoo is a half-a-banger.

I would not be surprised at all to see Saunders go out there and embarrass this guy for a few rounds, get tired, and get worn down.

Or he may elect to run, picking his spots to do a bit of outboxing and shoe-shining, going the distance and claiming the win.

I saw Canelo vs Lara and he looked average at times, my recollection is that he lost that fight, on my first viewing.

But I can't see past Canelo. To beat this guy you need the perfect camp, the perfect run in, you're not just boxing him you're boxing the entire system behind him, too.

I'm mildly excited for Canelo-Saunders, but not massively. Definitely watching though.

    I'm massively excited for Taylor-Ramirez.

I don't think Billy Joe has any chance. It's always the same story with Ginger, you're gonna have to beat the ever living shit outta the guy to get a win, and BJ isn't good enough to do that.

Best case, if Saunders gives his finest performance, he could "win" in the eyes of the public in a close one, but we know damn well that won't get him an official win.

I suspect that Canelo is just too good and won't even need his corrupt judges to beat Saunders legitimately. I don't see BJ as anything special. But he has the opportunity next week to prove me wrong.

I'm going w Nelo, although I've got a bit of time for Saunders. I used to be a big fan, but it's hard to call yourself a fan when ever since I've been really into the sport, he's fought three times and the best opponent was a shot Martin Murray and one of them was on a KSI undercard. Hell, Dave Allen even laughed at him fighting Isufi. "That Issy guy wasn't even the man in his own house"

I'm going with Canelo because of a few things; number one being that he's flat out better. I didn't really doubt Saunders chin at 160, it seemed okay vs Lee; but it's been awful at 168. He was getting hurt by both Isufi and Coceres, and I've always suspected bodywork was his enemy. Canelo has every aspect needed to expose those particular weaknesses, and I don't buy the shit about Canelo struggling with boxers at the higher weights. He used to, sure. When he was drained, trying to make 154/155, but he's been pretty steady in applying pressure recently. I think his ring generalship and ring-cutting ends up setting up his body work, which wears Saunders down for a big overhand. Although, in honesty, I have a niggling suspicion, that this could be an early night for Canelo - and I hate that feeling, because some of the last times I've had it, I've been right.

Saunders will undoubtedly be in his best condition ever, though. It's pretty clear throughout his career that when he's gotten up for a fight with interest, he comes in in-shape. He's like Fury in that regard. Another factor, is that he's known he's got this fight for months - and I know that because I was told off a guy who knows Murray called Mick Kenyon, the week after Canelo beat Smith and Saunders beat Murray, that Canelo vs Saunders was gonna happen in May. He said Murray told him that was their plan. I didn't pay it much notice at the time since Mick can be a bit wily, and I sort of brushed it off as just his opinion. But if he knew from Murray in December, then so did Saunders. Over five months time spent training his bollocks off. If he's not in top shape, he's a fucking retard with no excuse whatsoever.

Although I believe Saunders could pose some problems, I feel Canelo is a better fighter (I’d even say way better) than he was at 23. Lara might have arguably beat him (not sure about that) but I don’t think Saunders will face the same fighter. I’m not even sure he’ll frustrate him that much. He has the ability to make it an akward fight, no doubt about it, but I really don’t see him winning that fight or being ahead on the cards before fading. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alvarez stopped him.

Is Saunders even better than a prime Lara?

Its a very interesting style matchup for sure. Still think Nelo pressure gets to Saunders eventually

No. I think prime Lara was a different level from BJ.

I strongly fancy Canelo to have way too much pressure. He doesn't play boxing. Billy Joe has the know how but not for the full 12.

For the record, I think Canelo is gonna blast Billy Hoe.

    Canelo KO 8-10

Oh, I guess Neil means the stink about the ring size. Just read about it.

Yeah, Saunders has never sounded confident about this matchup. He's made MULTIPLE built-in excuses.

Guys like Benavidez and Charlo I think actually feel they can beat Nelo. Whether they can or not is a different story, but I think they at least believe it.

    Saunders seems intimidated and unsure.

The saunders camp apparently thought they'd agreed on a 24 foot CLOWN RING. Alas, he'll have to do some fighting.

Lol @ Saunders acting like he's gonna pull out. Shut your scary ass up! You pull out and you'll never get another payday.

As if Billy, a nobody, is gonna get the terms changed on the sport's biggest star,
