Corley-Bailey was one of the worst fights in history. I only saw it the one time when it aired live (think it was on Showtime), and I'll never ever forget how bad it was.

At one point around 2000 I thought Bailey was going to be the man for some time. He never added up to the levels I thought he would reach after he beat Hector Lopez.

He was but he was never the man.

Cotto went to the Olympics that Summer and he emerged as the more dominant fighter at 140, him and Hatton.

God, I loved that fight. I was so happy when Shane beat Margarito and you're right, X, he totally manhandled him - that was what was so impressive. It was a systematic beatdown and it was totally unexpected. One of my favourite wins from a fighter I liked who wasn't given much of a chance going in (Holy-Tyson 1 is my absolute favourite).

I think Margarito went in and fought with the shame and the embarrassment of a man who knew he had been caught and knew what the headlines would be the following day.

Shane fought with the fervour of a man who knew an attempt had been made to rob him {which is saying something} and with the confidence of a man who knew his opponent lacked the faith to beat him fair- and was now stripped of the tools he had adopted to address that talent difference.

Easy to call it in hindsight but that's how I see it.

A reinvigorated Mosley and a totally deflated Margarito, who was stripped of his one true talent- his confidence.

The punch that Shane got him going with in the 8th round........he misses with a right upper cut and then, out of position, throws a left hand from the southpaw stance.

That's the shot that started it, not a hook or a right hand, it's a wild miss followed by a straight left out of the southpaw stance.

See the way Margarito stood looking at him after he missed that uppercut.......he had no idea that shot was coming. Shane just flung that shot from the wrong stance.

Ask Jack Mosley and he'll tell you "Shane's back was so tight, he had no option, he learned that sparring Cobrita Gonzalez in East LA back in '96"

Watched Margarito vs. Sergio Martinez. Weird how Margarito was able to push Martinez around. Beat him down in similar fashion as he did Cotto.

Some of my favourite 'two-way technical fights'/masterpieces are:

    Gerry Penalosa vs Tomas Rojas
    Veeraphol Sahaprom vs Chuwatana
    Michael Watson vs Nigel Benn
    Ezzard Charles vs Harald Johnson
    Ernesto Marcel vs Kuniaki Shibata
Gerry Penalosa vs Young Joo Cho
    Marvin Hagler vs Roberto Duran
    Ismael Laguna vs Vicente Saldivar
Kid Gavilan vs Billy Graham III
Manny Pacquiao vs Tim Bradley III
Jung Koo Chang vs Jose Torres I
Hilario Zapata vs Tomori & Nakajima
    Ismael Laguna vs Mando Ramos

I also can link you a clip of the fight between Laguna and Locche if you want.

Yeah, post the link to the Laguna vs Locche clip.

BTW - I think you meant to say Chang vs German Torres 1 lol. I've seen it several times.

I recently watched Campbell vs. J. Diaz. Good fight. Also, there is a dynamite quality video of Monzon vs. Valdez II out there.

Valdez's knockdown of Monzon in that fight was definitive. Hadn't realized that.

Valdez was a murderous puncher. I wonder how a Valdez-Hearns matchup would have gone.
