Yeah i'm talking more like in you're already in town at a hotel and want to do a bit of sight seeing but not the kind you can do on foot.

I would think these days with mapquest and all you would be alright. Sticking to your routes. Maybe make some notes of the areas you don't want to be in and which freeways they are off of. You should be fine.

I have been turned around in L.A. before and never ended up in a really bad area.

A Scottish couple from Inverness in their 60s were talking to me on a flight back from the UK. They were just coming out to see L.A. & San Diego. They didn't put a lot of planning into their trip. They were asking me about how easy it is to get around in L.A. on foot(this was before Uber & Lyft.) And they didn't know what part of L.A. they were staying in.

I didn't want to dampen their spirits about California but I had to break it to them that you're not doing a GOT-damn thing in L.A. on foot & you kind of really need to avoid certain sections of L.A. I felt bad for them but they may have gone on to have the time of their lives for all I know.

Yeah some people don't do much research at all. Some things you can understand why people might take for granted but others are real head scratchers. Usually Europeans are a fair bit more knowledgeable when it comes to geography than Americans but i've read some stories about a few being clueless about the vast size of North America. They will rent a car and say something to people about seeing Disney World and then maybe Times Square that same day. :Jest:

Did you rent a car with a jet engine and wings?

Wasn't there a story about some English or Irish guys that somehow ended up in the ghetto in Detroit and got shot?

I would love to hear the back story of how they ended up there because it was an out of the way area. I think it was about 10-15 yrs ago.

A lot of dishes all over the World are based on local environmental conditions.

My favourite is the story of the Guinness in Ireland because of the water from the River Liffey...........stinking brown water. At low tide that thing absolutely STINKS to high hell.

A weird inversion of that....years ago Charlie Sheen ended up at a house party smoking crack in easterhouse which is prob the roughest scheme in Glasgow. A long wander from Beverley hills

We ended up wandering around the bronx last time I was in nyc....my mate with shaved head, turn up jeans and doc martens with white laces. We later learned thats a 'white power' symbol in the US? Fuck me. The daft bastard had no idea, but its type of thing he ought to have known. Luckily it was mid afternoon but it was still a bit hairy - people turning and staring, even some guy making gun gestures at him out a car window. We took refuge in an italian gangster restaurant then jumped on the nearest subway.

Will Ferrell rocked up at a house party in Ireland having randomly picked a "Ferrell" from the phonebook.

Will Ferrell had a quiet pint of Guinness in Dublin last night.

Nobody would look twice at a shaved head nowadays as the skinhead "movement" is pretty much dead, but along with those those accessories? Yeah it's kind of a classic getup for a certain element of the white power crowd. Please tell me he didn't have red suspenders holding up the jeans and a short black bomber jacket.:Jest:

Hut has been silent on this just like Obama. I think a trip to Lubyanka would provide some answers.

Nah he'd treat that as some sort of architectural field trip. You need to be more cunning. A week in Birmingham and he'll be ready to talk.

LFC have their own destiny in their hands. But I am sure they've at least clinched a spot in Europe. Not mathematically but...they have.

Four clubs are competing for the last two spots. One in the Europa League. One in the Europa Conference.

West Ham 59 (2 matches remaining)
    Tottenham 56 (3 matches remaining)
    Everton 56 (3 marches remaining)
    Arsenal 55 (2 matches remaining)

    West Sham blew it yesterday.

Liverpool will probably blow it today.

Lricester winning was a disaster for LFC ECL chances.

If Leicester lost yesterday it was Slippery Slope time for them..
