Next weekend. Good matchup! Definitely tuning in. A great few upcoming weeks with Nery-Fig and Taylor-Ramirez only 2 weeks away.
What was the deal with Omar? My theory is his old style just doesn't hold up at 147 - so he was trying to be more defensive and it just didn't work.
Undisciplined as fuck. Isn't made for 147, only suited for 135-140, and wasn't dedicated enough to remain there. Omar was exposed years ago though. Ricky Burns outboxed him clear as all day, and Omar got a gift.
my theory is figueroa was never good. entertaining action fighter when properly matched? sure. good? no
Yeah but unlike mine, your theory doesn't explain his shittier than normal performance and strange machinations last week.
Apparently Figueroa is being paid $650k, Nery $250k. A guy that I am familiar with- I know his trainer pretty well- is making $8k for an 8 rounder.
Watch his fight with Robert Guerrero. He looks like he's doing Kung Fu moves in a boxing ring at moments.
There was a pro fighter with the last name of Figueroa who used to post on here. What happened to that guy?
I know it was at a slightly lower weight but quite shocked that Nery is considered a bomber. Doesn't seem to have much pop imo. He's winning but do not seem able to discourage Figueroa at all
fulton gonna beat the hell outta figueroa, who relies on volume and stamina. no one has better conditioning than fulton
This was a really good card I thought. All three fights were competitive with exciting action. Nice performances by all, but with the victors all raising their stock.
Volume, Stamina, SIZE and Strength... Nery HURT Figueroa in the 1st, Prior to Throwing him to the Canvas, but SIZE Enabled Figueroa to Adapt to and Eventually IGNORE the Incoming...1nce He Was Able to Keep Nery On his Backfoot and/or Against the Ropes, it was Basically a WRAP... Props on the Win, Very Entertaining Fight, But There's Definitely NOT Much Longevity in Figueroa's Future, @ the Elite Level... REED
Gonna really look into this division. Please somebody give me the most entertaining from these guys, apart from the listed fights: Roman, Fulton and Figueroa, apart from: Roman vs MJ and Payano and Figueroa vs Ceja.
Are You Asking for the Most Entertaining FIGHTS Roman, Fulton and Figueroa Had, Aside from Those Listed??? OR, Who the Most Entertaining FIGHTER Is Btwn Roman, Fulton and Figueroa???... REED's Old, Drunk and Confused @ the Moment, Soooo Apologies in Advance... REED
Roman's Unification w/TJ Doheny was Entertaining...Neil's Probably Followed Roman CLOSER Than Any Other Fightbeater and Could Provide Some Insight on Some Other Bouts of His... Haven't Seen Just a TON of Fulton, But His Title Winning Effort vs. Angelo Leo was Quality... Figueroa's Figueroa...What You Saw Last Night is WHO He Is, for Better or Worse... Perpetually Neglects His Height/Reach to Get Inside and Chop Away...Wide, Loopy Puncher w/Average (@ Best) Handspeed...As Such, He's Never In a "Bad" Fight, Per Se, Yet Never ULTRA Impressive Either, in REED's Opinion...As was the Case w/Big Brother Omar, REED Watches Brandon and Feels it's Only a Matter of TIME Before He's PAINFULLY Exposed... REED
He didn't fight that way that much. As the years have gone by he has come to fight pretty much like his older brother used to.
