Olly thinks he is going to penalty-dive-free kick-emotionally blackmail his way to the title.

BBC with more of the same......De Bruyne apparently "came off injured".

Must have done his fucking hamstring or something.

"City, who lost Kevin De Bruyne to injury midway through the second half, threw on Sergio Aguero for his final appearance but there was no fairytale ending for the club's greatest goalscorer as Chelsea closed out the win."

Oh no wait, apparently he "fractured his nose and eye socket".

He must have done that shaving. Perhaps the article throws some light on it.........

De Bruyne fractures nose and eye socket

No. Not much information. Just says he had a "collision with Rudiger". Must have........run into him or something.

Also the state of City last night running after the referee begging for a penalty and then, Stoke-like, relying on Kyle Walker long throws to get the ball into the box.

    Embarrassing.

The stupid Irish take it a step further.

De Bruyne apparently fractured his own shit after an "accidental collision".

This is good stuff. I guess the referee must have accidentally booked him for this accident.

The ref might have deemed it a foul- and booked him- but RTE know better. They know it was an accident.

De Bruyne recovering from fractured nose & eye socket

Not content with this re-writing of history, Paddy goes on to make sure nobody thinks this accident had any impact on the result.

The Belgium international had to go off on the hour mark with a concussion injury in City's 1-0 defeat at Porto's Estadio Do Dragao after an accidental clash with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger left him on the ground.

"Hi guys just got back from the hospital. My diagnosis is acute nose bone fracture and left orbital fracture," De Bruyne, who had well below his normal level of impact on the game, wrote on Twitter.

Havertz the hero as Chelsea win Champions League

Oh. Apparently it was an "increasingly frustrated" De Bruyne who collided with Rudiger. :Jest:

"Guardiola resisted the temptation to make any half-time changes, and while City pushed higher upfield N’Golo Kante produced a stunning cover tackle on an increasingly frustrated De Bruyne.

The Belgium star’s night went from bad to much, much worse moments later, when colliding with Rudiger. After lengthy treatment the ex-Chelsea playmaker trudged off in tears, with a possible broken cheekbone."

Honestly, it's Orwellian. Telling us what we saw.

I defy anybody in here to tell me that I am City apologist but here's the reality: the one guy likely to get City back in it was fouled out of the game, and they don't want to call a spade a spade.

I don't know why this is: scared of robbing an All-English final of its shine, or excessively desirous to not say anything about a Black player Toni Schumachering a guy out of the game.

Take your pick. Probably both. Must be a Toni Thing with these "Germans". :Jest:

Everton are apparently "linked" to over 100 players in the last month.

Nevermind that we have a dozen coming back from loan that will probably never play for EFC again. And two more that have collected cheques for two years and sat in hot tubs nursing injuries.

And according to Wikipedia, Mo Besich is still an Everton player. He's not on the payroll roster, hasn't been seen in years, but apparently he still belongs to EFC.

Howe's dropped out for reasons nobody will specify, during the months & months that dragged on our plan b went to leipzig & our plan c went to parma...., currently scrambling around to try and get some Australian mystery man in as a panic solution...who it turns out doesnt even have a European coaching licence! If he finally comes in at the last minute he has a matter of weeks to turn upsidedown, work out what continent he's in, meet the rooky CEO, starting TOMORROW, whos backround is in RUGBY & decide between them on how to replace half our first team before euro qualifiers start. We're guaranteed to get papped out by some team from durkadurkastan

    *"Too much power" {like buying players and stuff}

I wouldn't mind Howe at Everton if Carlo has another "magnifico" season. He grew up an Evertonian.

Okay. So at what point do we jettison this three season thread and start a new one?

    Before or after the Euros?

I would say keep it open until the UEFA Super Cup/Charity Shield are over. Then the last season is truly finished.

And the Euro's actually belong in LAST YEARS thread :Jest: so they have to be accommodated here.

August 11th. Was supposed to be Belfast- which would have been great for Norn Ireland economy- but it's being moved to Istanbul, presumably to compensate them for the loss of the Champions League final.

Charity Shield is August 7th, Wembley.

    New Season? August 14th.

So we can keep this one open to the 11th August 2021.

Ancelotti to leave Everton for Real Madrid.

    I have mixed feelings.

Softening on this australian guy after some reading, apparently very highly thought of and he seems to improved every team he's managed, including taking australia to an asian cup win. He has glowing praise from Pep & Rodgers on his resume. Shaun Maloney being lined up too, whos been Martinez' assistant at belgium the last few years. Decent pedigree between those two and John Kennedy will be sticking about who has the tactical and coaching nouse to be a useful backroom fixture, even if he has the personality of an easter island head. Maybe less of an omnishambles than feared...fingers crossed

In other news celtic have announced what refund will be offered on the £550 i spent on an unused season ticket- a £40 Celtic shop voucher. I get better customer service from my drug dealer.

And....the rollercoaster goes down again. Feargal Harkin, who I thought had already been appointedas director of fitbaw, is actually now staying at Man City. They're like dugs, coming up having a good sniff at the rotten meat and running off

I presume Ancelotti was asking for £ to spend on, well, players and stuff and the £ just wasn't forthcoming.

That really is fucking daft. I bought an expensive underperforming bike once and by way of compensation I was given a £100 voucher........to spend in the same shop.

I used the bike for a year and when it was beyond hopeless took them to the County Court and sued them.

    They paid out.

His house being robbed, safe stolen, while his daughter was there probably didn't help.

Assholoti was targeting two older players with high wages (Pedro was one of them.) Last year he brought in three 30 year-olds to save us. Old legs, backward pass after backward pass, six defenders on the pitch at a time...

    Fuck him. We move on.

I don't know how much truth there is to this but I read that Howe was trying to bring half of his old staff at Bournemouth to Celtic. Which didn't go over well in Glasgow.

    Englands win over Austria- pish.

    Scotland impressed in Holland.

    Wales hammered.

    "Ireland" vs Andorra score unknown.

If Ireland don't get a result against Andorra, difficult not to conclude that present manager just not going to work out...he's been an unlucky general and he has the worst selection in living memory to work with but the development of a style of play cannot be divorced entirely from the basic requirement to win the games you're supposed to
