I'm sure he'd been booked and was out of the final as well.

First PROPER game of the tournament.....I'll be bunking off early with a few IPAs that day. Come on Ingerland! I wanna see that semi final defeat on penalties.

Not in good beer, no. Look at the back of a bottle of leffe bruin or a quality ipa, theres like 4 or 5 ingredients including water. Thats what makes it, well, good, rather than shit.

    just under 2/1?

    England are 1.5/1

    So England slight favourites.

I'll have £200, £300 down on England to qualify.

UEFA away goals rule to be abolished in European tournament knockout ties from the 2021-22 season.

    I think it's a good decision.

Yup, i agree. Home advantage much less decisive than it used to be, making the rule seem ever more irrelevant and the outcomes it produces ever more arbitrary.

Liverpool have crashed out of Europe on this rule but I wouldn't abolish it.

I guess the problem is if you let the game go on indefinitely the winning side might be so exhausted they will have nothing left for the next game and would be easy pickings. I don't think penalties should be allowed for a final though. Shitty way to decide it and there's no next game to worry about. There's even been additional rule changes suggested such as taking a player off from each side after every X amount of minutes of extra time.

I think it's too arbitrary. A goal is a goal. It shouldn't matter where or when it was scored.

It should be a staring contest. First one to blink or laugh loses. Best 4 out of 7.

No idea why anyone thought that would be close. Denmark are actually a very good side and have played like it, again.

Useless BBC twats after the Denmark Russia spent half an hour babbling on about how 'emotional' Denmark were and how everything was about the 'emotion' of their side.

Total bollocks. They ripped Russia to bits with some seriously incisive, quick, efficient attacking football. The amount of times they got in behind, created spaces between lines and got defenders running back towards their own goal was really impressive. It was the best football I'd seen all tournament. They've just done the same to Wales.

    Good side.

Ronnie Whelan lambasted on Irish TV for interrupting commentary of how everyone on Danish team and everyone who watched Erikson game would require years to get over it. Ronnie pointed out that the lad survived that we need to get on to talking about the football. Whelan may be a miserable git but he was right, some of the pearl clutching and emotive language has been ridiculous and over-wrought.

Yeah that was brutal. I watched it in a boozer filled with nubile little bar girls under a tent. Half way into my 2nd pint of Fosters and feeling that skin numbing that only non-Drinkers would understand, i contemplated the absolute working over that Wales were indeed getting. Sending off was a joke mind.

Whole evening was ruined somewhat by a family of Chav cunts that crashed the evening with their mawkish fucking inbred cunt offspring.

Needless to say i persevered, and perseverance was what was needed for that 90 minutes of Austria vs Italy

The pal who came up from Orpington tonight to see me said likewise. He told me he fancied Denmark for a semi final berth. We ordered pints (£10. 80 for two Fosters THANKS BORIS) and watched his predo play out

I've spent a lifetime telling people the BBC were not worth a fuck and now some of you, belatedly, are getting it.

You CANT win anything without emotion. But you will win NOTHING with emotion ALONE.

Anyone who thinks the BBC's CONSTANT appeal to pathos is not part of a larger broader attempt to reduce its viewership to babbling emotive halfwits incapable of detached reasoning is simply not with it.

Because Wales turned over Belgium once, because its tournament football, and anything can happen, because Ramsey, Williams and Bale aren't bad footballers?

Boozer i was in had a Welsh contingent and they seemed like fair lads. Felt a bit sorry for them at the end. There was a kid with them, 18 maybe, and you could see his World falling apart.

Holland were really, really poor. Deserved to lose. Draw opening right up for Denmark. They'll fancy themselves to reach the final.
