I'd be shocked if any of the judges have it for Castano.

    A draw is reasonable.

Apparently it's open scoring if you are one of Haymons guys. Derrick James in the corner knew exactly what the score cards were when he told charlo "they got you down 3 rounds "

Boxing Fans Focus On "Back in the Day" to a Fault Sometimes, and a Plethora of Sanctioning Bodies is an OBVIOUS Problem, But REED Gives Fighters of the Present CREDIT For Their Desire to UNIFY...

Heavyweight is 3/4th's Unified, Cruisier was FULLY Unified Until Usyk Moved Up...Super Middle is 3/4th's Unified, Ditto for Super Welter...Welter is Partially Unified, Super Lightweight is FULLY Unified, Lightweight is FULLY Unified (Fuck Devin Haney's Claim)...122 is on the Verge of FULL Unification, as is 118...

Even w/the Sanctioning Body Dilemma, Today's Fighters Deserve Props for Actually DOING Something About It...For Trying to Give Boxing Fans a CLEAR Picture of Who the "Champion" Is...

    SHIT Scorecard for Sure...

Clearly, Nelson Vazquez was INSURANCE, Preventing a Charlo Loss...It Won't Happen, But He Should NEVER Be Allowed to Judge a Boxing Match Again...

Yeah 117-111 is a disgrace. At least the other judges had some senses

Castano is way more dangerous than Dorin

Dorin was pretty ponderous. He could get off nice combos when he could close the gap, but he was extremely slow of foot, which Castano is not.

In one championship bout fought in Europe, which was also discussed on this forum, the supervisor agreed to help one of the fighters.

He checks the scorecards after every round and he promised to take his jacket off if his guy was winning, and keep it on if the opponent was ahead. It didn't help though, his guy lost

Yes he is, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting dorined sooner than later. He's playing a very dangerous game

    My card:

    Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castano

Missed it last night, so I gave it a butcher's this morning. I'd never seen any Castano before, so I went into it with no knowledge of him other than that he's very short. I also only knew that it was a draw, I hadn't read a thing about the decision, so I didn't know whether it was controversial or not. I was actually looking to stay up for this, bit I think I started drinking too early coz me and my dad both blacked well before Aleem-Vidal was over.

    Charlo - Castano
    9 : 10
    10 : 9
    9 : 10*
    9 : 10 (37/39)
    9 : 10
    9 : 10
    9 : 10
    9 : 10 (74/78)
    9 : 10
    10 : 9
    10 : 9
    9 : 10 (117/111)

Egregious decision. Grim. Fucking filthy, if we're honest. Normally when there's a controversial decision with two serious extremes coming from both sides, what you normally get is a razor close fight. Not this time. This was actually horrendous.

Sure, there was close rounds you could give to Charlo. Maybe, five? That's only if you give every close round to Charlo, and that's essentially doing exactly what the judges/farhood were doing. Castano walked him down, avoided his only consistent weapon and forced Charlo back to the ropes. He plan out-worked him.

I can see it closer, TBF. I wouldn't go with a 10-8 in the tenth, but I wouldn't argue too frivolously if somebody did; the third could potentially be given to Charlo based on what happened before he was rocked, but I felt they were both just too inactive to ignore Charlo getting badly rocked; and the final round could have potentially gone either way, if you were so inclined.

So that's a range of 117-111 to 114-113 Castano. Can't see much closer, to be frank.

    Notes
    • Charlo seemed really uncomfortable leading. Cost him as early as the second, and again in the tenth.
    • Charlo is far too patient. He isn't throwing enough, and when he throws just one or two at a time, it isn't effective at all.
    • Neither were perfect here - certainly not a fight I'd have thought was for an undisputed championship - but Castano's game plan and fundamentals were very good and worked well for him. Charlo had lots he could improve on.

His career has already surpassed Dorin's, whether he gets KOd eventually or not.

Dorin's best win was Spaddy (i dont count that as a draw).

Castano now has rightful wins over Lara and Charlo.

I thought Charlo should have pressed his attack more when he had Castano hurt.

That goes without saying. Charlo is better than thr Gatti that blasted Dorin. Still, that wasn't my point. Just saying that i expect him to be blasted sooner than later
