Quite a few comparaison were made to tyson being similar to Dempsey, and Holmes to Ali, but personally, i dont see it, bare some superficial things. Both Sugar rays are often mentionned as similar, and in that case, i see it more.

Ive always tought that MAB, especially in his younger days, was pretty much a carbon copy of Chavez (though not as good) Also, while i haven't seen a ton from Pepp, it seems to me Locche was really similar to him stylewise (though not as good Once again).

Neil will once again troll with that, but as ive already said i see a lot of similarities between Stevenson and Pacquiao. Both southpaw punchers, who tended to jump around, and were pretty much always spamming the same move (i dont think i need to mention that pac was obviously in another stratosphere)

Locche and Pep weren't that similar outside of both being Italian and defensive geniuses.

Locche's defensive was centered around the shoulder roll and very subtle, yet beautiful, defensive footwork.

Pep was a lot quicker on his feet and combined that with flawless reflexes, head and uppercut movement.

Its true that locche was a lot more flat footed, but they both had a defensive style where they liked to make the other guy miss by a ton and look foolish.

And i know we disagree on this, but while locche used the shoulder roll agaisnt Hernandez and fuji, usually , he was more relying on deep bobbing and weaving.

But where i see the similarities, it's that both were not necessarily counter puncher, but kind of went on the attack after maker their opponents miss with a few punches

Yeah, i can see it. Robinson was a bit more classical in his approach, but he definitely had some similarities with Taylor

Gomez and Duran were somewhat similar. Not entirely, but there were some style similarities. They were also close friends.

Good comparison, although I would say that Arguello was even more similar to Zarate. Strangely I’ve always thought that Zarate was like a prototype version of Ricardo Lopez (both trained by Cuyo Hernandez) and Julian Jackson was like a prototype version of Felix Trinidad.

They're all kinda similar in a way. I mean Zarate, Tito, Arguello. Alexis was obviously a class above them, with Zarate and Tito more-less in the same tier of greatness.

Corrales was similar to them as well, though obviously not nearly as good.

Eder Jofre was often likened to a hybrid of Louis and Robinson, and I think that's accurate. You can see a bit of both of them in him, but I think he fought more like Louis.

Demetrius Andrade always reminds me of an EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY poor man's Michael Nunn. But Boo Boo is so far off that the comparison is insulting to Nunn.

Orlando Canizales imo was a hybrid of a Napoles and Gomez, only not as good as either.

The textbook boxer puncher style has always been my favorite style to watch, especially when used in a beautiful way. Joe Louis, Harold Johnson, Arguello, Finito, Zarate, Trinidad, Curry, Rosario, Arbachakov, JMM, are cut from the same cloth IMO.

Miguel Canto definitely picked up a lot from Willie Pep

Joe Brown, Ike Williams, and Lionel Rose have shades of Sugar Ray Robinson

Roman Gonzalez was like a mixture of Arguello with Aaron Pryor’s constant aggression.

Chocolatito is like a mix of Arguello/Napoles/Chavez. Not as good as any of the three, but his style is a nice lil mix of all of them.

Yeah, Froch essentially was a significantly less talented, but a lot more heart, version of Quitali.

Canizales had some similarities with the more textbook aspects if Duran imo as well as Napoles and Gomez. I'd say that Conteh falls into that group too. The earlier, rougher two-handed Conteh with Duran, becoming more Napolesesque as he matured and one-handed.

Barney Ross was a bit of a skilled, smarter, fitter and relaxed but lighter-hitting version of DLH.
