He was beaten up badly in the first fight. In theory, he could turn it around and win, but beatings like that have a tendency to ruin careers. Even if Warrington should win today, he would get fuckin destroyed by Navarrete.
I can't think of an example off the top of my head where someone was completely dominated and copped a pasting, and then was able to turn it around in the rematch.
It's happened before. But usually the guy who turns it around in the rematch has more ability than Warr. I'm not counting it out entirely though.
Lara vs Navarrete is the fight I want. I like Warrington's style - although I don't like him - but I prefer Lara's gung-ho power punching style more. I want him to carry on and set himself up for more big fights.
Straffon just got absolutely schooled by Maxi Hughes - a good, but not special southpaw - and lost his chance at Haney. J can only assume Hughes will get the shot, and was far more entertaining in his beatdown of Straffon than Haney has been in his entire career to date. It'll be a decent match-up, but a boring fight IMO.
At least when Josh got KO'd by this man who didn't have a wikipedia page, it was in front of nobody. Now he's going to get brutally destroyed in front of a lot of people
Katie Taylor is a highlight reel ko waiting to happen.... HAN, with her 1 ko in 18 wins, probably ain't the one to do it.
Han is definitely not even good. But Taylor, really made it look easy. She’s one of a few female boxers that sort of ‘moves like a guy’, slightly crouched stance, straight shots from the outside, maintains balance and not getting into the slappy punch-fests that so many women’s matches turn into. She’s not particularly hard on the eye (from a boxing perspective) to watch like many other women, has descent movement and logic behind her moves.
Warrington maintaining ultra-tight stance. That would be great for a 6-8 round fight. He better hope it doesn’t go much past that…
