Wth is that story? Maybe it's another boxer named lennox Lewis `He's A Deadly Weapon' -- Fiance Was Hiv Positive; Boxer Had 3 More Bouts | The Seattle Times Now obviously LL doesn't have aids since he probably got tested numerous times afterwards, but still weird
On second tought, 1994 article and the boxer is referred as an up and coming. Most definitely isnt LL since he was already champ at the time
Proud Kilimanjaro was Africa’s best heavyweight and earned a fight with Lennox Lewis, but could have been so much more
This thread Good spot Slice/JOM It seems that there must have been unresolved issues around his fights with Sithole and Tiger, it's like ........"fight him.........again.......again". Like........you didn't TKO him ENOUGH the last time. And then you find "Sammy Scaff" and you have to remind yourself that not only was this his REAL name but that he even fought Tyson. So this joke dude from Kenya is getting fights with Lewis and has common opponents with Mike Tyson. Think about it. That's the same territory as guys like Vitali or Tommy Morrison or Hasim Rahman. Pub Quiz Question: "What AIDS joke boxer named after a mountain followed a similar career path of former HW Champs" American fight fans would be like "Mount Whittaker"..........."Hey, Everett Martin, that's like Mount Everett, right"? It's not so much 7 degrees of separation as it is a seventh of a degree of separation. Funny business, boxing.
Captain Cleopas Marvel........another pugilistic illuminary of that Halcyon period of African boxing.....
There's a book I read called 'Facing Tyson' which had interviews with Tyson opponents and insights into their lives, from the beginning all the way to McBride. Scaff came across as the coolest dude out of everyone I have to say. Seemed like a really decent chap, a funny guy who knew he was no great shakes as a boxer, just an opportunity to make some money, and he got out with his health in tact.
He was massive, as well. Looked like an 80's Pornstar or something. He was doing alright until his nose got broke.
Should have been called ......"Facing the canvas, now, and reconstructive facial surgery,later"........ is what it should have been called, actually.
