Hahahaha YUSSSSSSSSS!! YOU RRRRRRRRR's! Unbelievable penalties from both sides to be fair, can't believe we held our nerve, especially after the retaken pen.

Townshend used to play for us, spent a season on loan and played well, there was no animosity when he left so not actually sure what the booing was about.

Love Loftus Road, proper old school ground rising from terraced streets. I know it's not a moneymaker but I would hate for us to move, it's a really great atmosphere.

Most kids today following music don't realize how big they were. Literally the last band with a genuine mania about them.

Yep, won't see anything like that again. My favourite band ever, crazy they have such a legacy with just three studio albums and three years in the mainstream.

Austin is to QPR what Ronaldo is to Man Utd. The improvement to the whole team since he returned is incredible.

Everton are in deep shit for the next few weeks. No DCL, no Richarlison, not sure when Pickford & Coleman are coming back but this squad has no depth. Three times they haven't been able to list a full bench. And James is acting like a spoiled bitch. The fans have grown tired of his act.

My brother who is 19 yrs younger than me likes them. I was trying to explain to him what an experience it was to hear SLTS for the first time. It was head turning. He was surprised. Listening to it today, grunge music has kind blended in with rock music. But in '91, it was a definitely a "Whoa, what the fuck is this" moment.

True, and then.... Pop ate itself.

We got Britpop and the Fred Durst ridiculousness of the mid to late 90s and then, the final inevitable angst-core embarrassment of Papa Roach, Saliva etc
    ...

Cherry on the top was that odious little dwarf Lars Ulrich whining about Napster.

You knew it was over then.

6 years after Cobain (allegedly) killed himself, Ulrich was on TV crying about kids downloading songs.

Yeah, I think the quiet/loud dynamics of grunge essentially became the default template for nearly all rock bands that came afterwards (to the detriment of the genre, I'll admit), so if you weren't around to hear the music preceding them it wouldn't sound as groundbreaking.

Derby's overspending and subsequent failed promotions (including one particularly memorable occasion against us in 2014) have come back to haunt them. Gone into administration, point deductions to follow and I expect many job losses. Sad stuff, they're a great club with a lot of history. They did gamble beyond their means and it backfired, but I hope they can stay afloat.

I hope a full forensic audit of their books reveals the debt is all linked to expensive hair replacement therapy, gastric band surgery and trips to Harley Street for a certain "A. R. Wain."

Sincerely though they're victims of modernity and the need to "keep up", modern monetary theory etc.

Sunderland at home next round, not sure how I feel about it. On paper it's an easy win, but knowing QPR it's the type of game we end up losing.

I am not a podcast person but for advertising, a rock station here did a weekend of podcasts about music. I caught one called something like "The Final Days of Kurt Cobain" (or maybe the last days or last weeks...) Fuck, it was really good. I am not a huge fan of his but it was really interesting. The detailed part about how he and Axl Rose became enemies was intriguing. It started long before the infamous award show incidents. I believe it was produced by I Heart Radio.

Was it the birthday party thing? Haha that rivalry was great, Axl's ego couldn't handle it, burning the Nirvana hat on stage and stuff. Saying that I do like GnR too, even though they're everything Kurt and Nirvana hated, they just have some cracking tunes. Thanks for the recommendation, will check it out!

Celtic's squad depth....raith rovers at home, some guys like rogic & Turnbull visibly flagging having played every game for 2 months and travelled internationally. Can't bring anyone in. Basically a 13 man squad right now

Wayne Rooney genuinely is a throwback, he looks like late career footballers did in the seventies...guys in early thirties looking late mid forties e.g. frank worthington

He looks worse than that. They at least has a rakish long haired quality to them. Rooney looks like a guy with an aversion to nutritious food and exercise programmes. He looks like he objects strenuously to regular patterns of sleep.
