I agree. They are flawed, badly flawed, but in Fury's case, it's his personality and out of the ring application. It's not his skills. Joshua is shitty in a relative sense, he's just been praised out of all proportion to his skills. Usyk is relatively good in that he's better than the relatively shitty guy he just beat. The problem is that that in-shape men of around 6'3 and 200lbs used to be such a fucking routine assignment. Today it's a rare sight.
Yep. It's sad. 2 losses means nothing............. 2 losses in that fashion means a lot in an era where there's no depth Oh here, look at a real fucking killer.......big V ......."very clever, Aleksander do a perfect job"
He could if he fucking HIT him. The problem is that against anybody with any bit of noodle, he can't fucking get off.
Fury is a fantastic boxer against heavyweights who cannot box,..which is about 95% of all heavyweights today.
Tony Bellew is right. Roy is right. This was a tactical failing. AJ would have been as well off just going out there and laying it all out for 10 minutes, come what may.
A great boxer used to be a guy who did well against guys who could punch. We know he can do that. Listen, look back at some of the performances turned in by Holyfield, Tua, Byrd, Ruiz, even Lennox Lewis....they all had nights that I could see Fury do real good on. There are serious flaws. But a lot of them are upstairs. He has a decent chin. He can switch stance. He can move very well.
Joshua shouldnt go straight into a rematch. this wasnt some flukish shit like the ruiz fight and usyk damn sure wont show up out of shape if they fight next summer. this was a comprehensive beating
There's a rematch clause between the two, so a rematch is where AJ goes from here. A rematch which may go even worse for him.
It was but the worst of it is that Joshua won't fucking change. He won't look at the tape and see "I had him hurt off the body shot"........instead he'll run out there and do the exact same fucking thing....waiting for openings that aren't there and over-reacting to right jabs that leave him off balance and miles out of range. He should have just gone out there and gone AT him.
No doubt about it that Roy Jones was secretly rooting for Joshua. Didn’t want Usyk to move up and win the Heavyweight title over a better guy than he beat. Joshua is average,..but he would probably have KO’d Ruiz prime for prime.
Don't see it, Fury is a great judge of distance and can pepper Usyk from the outside. I love Usyk by the way, I think he's a fantastic fighter but Fury is a big guy who can box.
Mentally he's gone. He was pulling faces and sitting on the ropes. "You can't hurt me, ha ha". Madness. I mistook the smiling and the relaxation for just that. Instead, he was in goofing around.
USYK had one of those Larry Holmes moments like in the Cooney fight, he was absolutely belted to the body, I think at the end of the 8th round. Joshua never did a fucking thing thereafter....the instruction should have been to GO RIGHT AFTER HIM......he didn't get that order, or he didn't follow it. Might be one for the shit cornerwork thread.
