Fight week has arrived. I'll be ordering this one.

I still expect Caleb to do better than BJS did, but Canelo will break him down and stop him.

    I don't.

I wholeheartedly believe Plant would be lucky to see the half way mark. I don't think he'll win even a round.

I wouldn't be surprised by this outcome. The way he destroyed Callum Smith still sticks in my mind.

Plant's a lot quicker than Stiff. We all know Canelo doesn't adjust to movement immediately. It takes him time.

I think Plant's gonna surprise you. If I'm wrong, I'll give you credit.

But I maintain that he's gonna give Canelo more problems than Stiff and BJS did.

If Canelo wins I hope he fights Charlo or Benevidez next because I see them as the real test. I don't agree with those that say Caleb Plant is going to give Canelo trouble because Canelo had problems with Mayweather and Lara. The problem with that logic is that in all the fights I've seen Plant in he isn't a stick and move type of guy that uses lateral movement and reach to beat guys. He's a guy that stands in the pocket and out speeds his opponents. I the Truax and Uzcategui fight he got hit way too much to be considered slick like Mayweatheror Lara...If he uses that same strategy and stands in the pocket with Canelo he'll get stopped in 6 rounds or less. A more likely scenario... he will try to run all night like Lara but eventually will fold under the pressure from Canelo. All those body shots and all that power will be too much. The speed of Caleb Plant won't be a factor since Canelo has a great defense, is good at cutting the ring and is used to fighting faster guys at 154 and 160. (Khan's speed comes to mind)

Final Prediction Canelo in 8 rds via tko

    Canelo vía UD.

I think Plant sees the distance and he’ll be competitive but due to him not having the power to keep Canelo off him, I see him taking a late rounds beating and hanging on to survive.

the problem with thinking plant has a chance and basing it on the mayweather jr and lara fights is flawed logic. alvarez isnt the same fighter as he was then, he has clearly improved skill wise. and on top of that he has mastered his gear cycles so he is much much stronger. then there is the fact that plant has beaten absolutely no one aside from a fringe top 10-15 guy in uzcategui.

maybe plants athleticism presents some problems but he wont get a decision without scoring multiple knockdowns anyhow.

Didn't say Plant had a chance. I would be shocked if he won.

Just saying he'll win a few rounds.

Neil is leaving out the part that he was high on Uzcat at the time, and picked him to destroy Plant.

Uzcat is a fringe guy NOW, but at the time he was considered top 3-5 in the division. Many considered Uzcat THE BEST supermiddle at the time.

Uzcategui is a no-one. He lost to a washed up bum that same year.

Saunders' win over Coceres is more impressive than that. Let alone Smith's win over Groves.

Michael Grant was once thought as the future of the hw division. Doesn't make Lewis destructive win over him great or even relevant. Same for Uzcat, he was waiting to be exposed by the first good prime fighter he faced. It just happened to ve Plant

I don't see Plant lasting the distance. Canelo keeps improving fight to fight even at this point in his career. He will have to come and get Plant so for that reason I'm expecting a stoppage.

Yeah, I don't see how facing a bunch of has been and never was prepared Plant for a fighter of Canelo's level. If Plant really trusted his abilities, he would have fought Benavidez or someone relevant in the last couple of years instead. Typical cash out from someone who, imo, doesn't really believe in himself ans would much rather game the sport

I mean... Plant hasn't really been ducking Benavidez...

Benavidez has been destroying his own career.

I dont think Plant would beat Benavidez, but what I cant understand is why Plant is universally hated, and at the same damn time Benavidez is always above criticism.

Benavidez's resume is pretty shitty as well, and he was just lined up to face Plant's leftovers. But does anyone mention that?

Say what you want about Plant, but at least he takes his career seriously and stays in the gym.

    Benavidez is a crackhead.

Well, Benavidez was always pushing to make the fight with Plant happen while Plant seemed more than happy making easy money facing nobodies and hoped winning the Canelo lottery with his mouth rather than his accomplishments.

He's fucked without the extra help. Mainly because he lacks the pop to keep Canelo honest.

It doesn't help that this crooked broad jarmin already has him losing the first 8 rounds

That's what cracks me up about Plant. He always brings up how he will beat Canelo because he supposedly aims to accomplish "unbelievable" things yet in the past two years has never made an effort to unify with any of the top guys(Benevidez, Smith, Saunders}. Now all of a sudden he's looking to be great? This is a money grab for him. He's the Peter McNeely of the 168 division.

Benavidez has spent the subsequent years since beating up Dirrell doing coke and missing weight. Why does this NEVER get mentioned? Why is he above criticism, and people act like he's beaten murderer's row?

Callum Smith is a DAZN fighter, and Plant is PBC. You know goddamn well that no matter what Plant wants, that one isn't happening. A Plant-Smith unification would be one that no one outside of us hardcores would care about - therefore it's not worth the time for Haymon and Fast Eddie to even discuss it.

I think the reason why Benavidez isn't hated as much is simply because he's way better. People like a dynamite guy who looks the goods; and Plant doesn't. Throw in Plant being an ignorant prick with no charisma and you have people making a fuss over something he wouldn't do normally.

Benavidez does appear way better, but he can't spend his entire career living off his potential.

To David's credit, he's actively chasing Charlo, and Charlo is running like a pussy.

Good point real boxing fans know that putting Plant and Benavides in the same ring would be like putting a poodle and a pitbull in a cage. Everyone knows Plant was holding on to that golden ticket (Canelo fight$$$$)for as long as he could feasting on Truax and Fagenboots type opponents. But I agree Benevidez is an idiot and his own worst enemy.

Every fighter is chasing the Canelo golden ticket. None of them are setting the world on fire waiting.

Calling him Peter McNeely is way overdoing it. McNeely was a bum. Caleb is a good fighter. He's not even very good, but he's good.

I dont believe at all that he's in to cash-out on Saturday. I think there's to win, but he won't be good enough.
