I don't know about you guys, but I think the way Shawn Porter tore through Paulie M is concrete proof that he would have beaten the shit outta Ray Leonard.

If Wilder can batter Eric Molina, I shutter to think what he would do to a prime Foreman.

The reason I brought up Kirland is because he's a former drug addict and Jones got knocked out by a former drug addict(Tarver).

Hit up Canelo on social media and ask for a refund. Anthony can help if you want the message in Spanish.

If you combine their first and last names they're both 13 letters long. Also their middle names both start with a 'D'.

    Eerie.

Kirkland and Jones are both lightskinned black dudes from southern states that were formerly governed by the Bush brothers. There are many connections here!

This just in, both of them were born from a woman who consorted with a male human. Tarver too!

Brandon Rios knocked out a Mexican in Urbano Antillion.

    Duran's dad was Mexican.

Duran = a goner against Rios.

Sometimes, people can tell us they're CURRENT drug addicts without telling us they're current drug addicts.

How did Caleb Plant do better than Callum Smith when he got stopped? Atleast Smith went the distance. Am I missing something.

I gave Plant 4 rounds at the most. He gave Canelo trouble with his defense but to say he was ahead on the cards like Andre Berto said its crazy.

Every strength Canelo has plays into Roy's hands as well. If Roy (168) and Hopkins (160) were around Canelo would be starving himself to make 154. Never would have seen either weight division.

    Agreed.

Right now we should be speculating how Canelo would fare against Froch.

The mere thought of Canelo in with a prime Roy or Hopkins is ridiculous.

Oh ok but yall were saying Tito was going to knock out Roy but Prime Canelo had no chance??? Wtf?.... ALL OF A SUDDEN Roy was GOD. You remember that? Then Tito got his ass kicked by Hopkins and ruined that super fight. All the Puerto Ricans were like Nooo papi nooooo lmao

Seriously Canelo at 168 or 160 puts Tito in a body bag.

Those two would have been the biggest money fights available. Would he lose badly?

Yes, but would have taken them.

If you mean the cash cow that he is now, i would agree. It would take him some time to "feel comfortable" before entertaining those matchups.

Alvarez waited as long as he could before facing golovkin and lately has found a home where he's strong at 68 and went on a tour of beating mediocre whites

That's what I'm saying. If Trinidad a guy the started at 147 was being talked about as possibly beating Roy why is it unthinkable Canelo would not even take the fight? To say Canelo haz zero chance or he could not share the ring is fanboying at it's finest. Many people felt Tito had a chance to beat Roy. Yall must have forgot.

Many people thought many things. Taking a fight and having a realistic chances of winning are two different things.

    These are different topics.

He's also full of shit with the "many" people statement.

There were about 2-5% of rabid Trinidad fanatics at the time who thought Felix had a realistic chance.

The VAST VAST majority acknowledged that it would be a blowout in favor of Jones.

It wouldn't be that fun. Canelo would go into a shell, and get shut out.

In hindsight it's easy to say the vast majority thought it was a blow out. But pre Hopkins vs Trinidad it there was a big buzz. Easy to be a Monday morning quarterback.

I'm not Monday morning quarterbacking you simp, I was THERE! As were a lot of guys on this forum. You're not talking to a group of novices who just picked up the sport. We were apart of the forum that GENERATED most of the online buzz pertaining to Jones-Trinidad.

The vast, vast majority considered Roy a big favorite. Even most sane Trinidad fans. Only a minority of delusional Tito groupies picked Tito to win.

This fool thinks this forum is ignorant about the history of Trinidad fans. Little does he know that the king of Trinidad groupies STARTED this forum.

I wouldn't say there was a big buzz, but it was gathering momentum definitely. There was even an article on the Ring (or was it in one of its sisters mag) claiming Tito would beat Jones but I always felt it was a bit of a troll job more than a sincere opinion. Honesty, assuming Trinidad fought Hones at a catchweight instead of Hopkins, I don't think more than 10% of serious boxing fans would have picked Tito

We are not in disagreement on this. I was a Dela Hoya fan and was rooting for Tito win the middle weight tournament. I didn't give Trinidad much of a chance but it doesn't mean no chance. I know Roy is your favorite fighter but there was many people that thought he had a chance. And there's no need to pull rank on me about how long youve been a fan of the sport every time we disagree. All I'm saying is a Trinidad vs Jones was being billed as the next big fight and no it wasn't because of you and all 30 other middled aged guys that posted in this forum 20 years ago.

Check out this article I can dig through the internet to find many others.

"WBA middleweight champ Trinidad was in the midst of a rare run heading into this bout. After unifying welterweight titles and compiling 15 defenses, Tito moved up to 154 in 2000 and earned Fight of the Year honors by dispatching titlists David Reid and Fernando Vargas. Then in 2001, he launched his assault on the middleweight division by entering HBO’s four-man tournament to determine the undisputed middleweight champion.

First, Trinidad blasted titlist William Joppy out in five rounds that May, sending the Madison Square Garden crowd into a frenzy and setting up a tournament finale against Hopkins. Tito was so sizzling hot that the conversation often included the former 147-pound champ ultimately challenging light heavyweight king Roy Jones Jr.

Hopkins, the WBC and IBF champ—and one of the most overlooked fighters in the sport—had other plans. "
