Stevie G slips out the door. Sounds like McCallister and, most crucially, Beale are going with him. Bye, bye Rangers:emoji_wave:

I see he signed with AV. Was his contract up or was some money required for an early exit?

Rangers get a payout. Might keep the leckie running in the asbestos riddled offices at Edminston Drive for a few more months.

Part of me's disapponted I wanted no excuses when we won the league at a canter but now it'll all be put down to this

You think Guardiola is going to look for an early exit on his contract to take over Rangers? :Jest:

Maybe Guardiola is finally ready for a challenge? The barbering & car valet bills at man city are probably bigger than Rangers wage bill these days

We were debating in work whether SlippyG will try and take anyone from Rangers with him and im thinking no although Aribo & Kent are probably the best candidates, depending on where Villa need strengthened. Possibly Morelos altho he might be too loose a cannon to bother with

Gerrrard has at least served not just an apprentice but a winning one that.

I can't think of the last British manager who WON a league title.

DId Newcastle win the CShip under Bruce?

    Ferguson at United in 2012./2013

Gerrard of course won a shit league, with respect, whose other main contender had been in some decline. But he also had a good run in Europe.

Winning the scottish league last year doesnt warrant much credit - Celtic self immolated. He couldnt win a cup in all those years. His european form has been consistently decent against a broad range of teams & he started at ground zero there. Beale is the tactical brains of the operation by most accounts but there are some there. He might do ok

If they haven't already decided in a replacement maybe you should apply.

    Boring James Milner
    @BoringMilner

I’ve just text Thiago asking if I can have Xavi’s number. He asked Why? I said so I can congratulate him on the Barcelona job, and let him know my Liverpool contract expires Summer 2022.

Flicking through the channels this evening and I found a sitcom from 1992 starring Ray Winstone, Larry Lamb and Kate Winslet. Show was called Get Back. Does anyone have any recollection of this at all? It completely passed me by. The show is awful, but crazy it had such a random and stellar cast.

Doesn't ring a bell. Quite a few well known actors and comedians have been in shows people have never seen. Normally that's because they don't get past the pilot or cancelled so quick nobody recalls them. I doubt i have the same channels you do but do you remember where you found it? Normally stuff like that can only be found on youtube (and sometimes not even then) Very rare an unpopular show ever gets reruns even on "nostalgia" stations.

Speaking of Kate Winslet she was just in a short mini-series called Mare of Easttown which is really good. (thread about it in the tv/movie forum)

No not at all. I "missed" a lot of TV back then. "Sharpe" was what I saw if I saw anything.

Two Latvian man have discuss. Jānis say to Valdis, “Are there any more potato left?” Valdis say, “Yes, one. But it has gone bad.” Jānis says, “I am very hungry. I have not eaten for three days. I shall eat it even if it make me very ill.” And Valdis say, “I did not speak truth. In reality, there is no food remain. You shall go hungry yet another day, my friend.”

If i'm reading the tables correctly both Italy and Portugal will require playoffs to qualify?

Yep. Northern Ireland played really well against Italy and should have won tonight.

Second place teams are drawn randomly or is it an A vs B, C vs D kind of thing? I forget.

At 0-0 I had £1 at 14-1 and £1 at £40-1 for Norn Iron to snatch it. Twice they missed MASSIVE chances.

Italy are brilliant against sides who don't offer a deep numerous defence. Like England.

They murder you if you leave gaps.

In any event, a win for Italy would not have been enough.

    Harry Maguire, meanwhile.........

I'm not sure to be honest, I know Scotland earned home advantage for the playoff semis. Does that mean 2nd gets home advantage and 3rd also gets in? I'm so lost with international football these days as England are always seeded and get piss easy groups every time.

I didn't watch the match but I heard our QPR oldboy Washington had a shot cleared off the line at the end.

Were there many Italian retirements after the Euros? I don't actually know, I'm thinking that must have something to do with it possibly? Saying that, Windsor Park when NI are up for it is always a tough challenge
