    I'm pumped for this one.

Just one question, who is Mukabu?

Its a title grab. A bit interesting since it's at cruiser, but a cherry picking move

Sure sounds it. I wonder if Kimbopu or whatever his name is will put in the same "effort" Kovalev did.

So this will be the first fight Canelo doesn't have to re-hydrate

Beating a 215lb guy who can punch would be an impressive victory

Makabu isn't 215lbs and wasn't good enough to see the forth against Tony Bellew...

Catchweight? Morning of the Fight Weigh-In? Rehydration Clause?

If ANY of That is At Play and McKooBoo, or Whatever the Fuck, is DEPLETED Beyond What He’d Normally Be for a CRUSIERWEIGHT Fight, it’s Pointless…

I think this fight will be at 190, since the WBC want there cruiserweight title at that weight since the advent of the bridgerweight division. Makabu says he can make that, and has a lot of time to do so safely, but I think this is coldly calculated and Canelo's team will stick a rehydration clause on Makabu. Makabu is hardly in a position to turn something like that down.

If the organizations were not so blatantly corrupted, they would prohibit all these weight related clauses. There's already more than enough weight division in boxing, that we dont need star boxers creating new ones to give them an advantage

Haha that's mad, I saw the name and it wasn't ringing any bells apart from "surely it's not the guy who lost to Bellew?". Lo and behold it is that same guy. Not going to knock Canelo for it though, he's taken on a lot of good guys recently so I don't mind this bout.

But it's nothing more than a calculated attempt at a belt grab. If a fighter with Deontay Wilders's boxing skills and Chris Byrd's punching power somehow manages to obtain any one of the titles at heavyweight i bet Canelo goes after him too. More "history making".

this guy has one loss, aside from his pro debut, to bellend where he had the guy on the deck with a monster straight left. other than that he has knocked most everyone out including some decent cruiserweights.

ill go on record now as stating that if alvarez can defeat this guy and then win a bridgerweight title, he is the greatest boxer of all time.

I won't gives him a ton of credit for beating Makabu, who's average as they come. Winning a bridgerweight belt would be huge though. While rivas is not exactly the reincarnation of Ali, hes strong, much bigger than canelo and.can punch very hard

I'm a huge Canelo fan but I think it's pointless. I would've liked Benevidez or Charlo next.

It would be. And on that happy note, just who is it that will attempt to do so when they fight Canelo?

I feel Canelo is on the way out… Maybe 2-3 fights and he calls it a day. No matter the quality of the opponent, this is a substantial weight jump and I don’t think he’s built to last long at 190 or 200. I don’t see him becoming a journeyman…

I think Makubu deserves credit for taking on a legit 200lb opponent.

    Hail Makubu!!

Canelo doesn't belong in the ring with any Cruiserweight, he's small for 168.

Does he deserve credit like Roy vs Ruiz, no way, but let's not pretend that this isn't risky.

I do think Canelo will come back and fight Benividez, and the rest, but I want to see these guys start fighting some legit fighters.

Benividez fighting a 40-50 ish ranked opponent? That's not the action of a fighter pushing for a Canelo fight.

Charlo- dude man up! He's already rejected a fight with Canelo, his twin even gave him shit about it. Then he says he'll fight Canelo only at 160 while being the bigger dude? Let's not forget him saying he didn't want to fight Benividez cuz he was "too young" and "only if he's vaccinated" what??

Andrade always claiming everyone is ducking him. Quigley is the bravest man in boxing?
