I don't see what Spence being an alchy has to do with anything I said. Spence hasn't improved technically in years.

Charlo has always been a hard puncher, just less so than his brother. I think this idea around Jermell being the other Charlo, so has only been reversed because Jermall hasn't looked great and Jermell has unified one of the weakest divisions the sport. Not because Jermell is the better of the two, because I don't think he is at all.

From what I remember, Jermell was a very talented amateur and went to the youth Olympics - winning bronze - within two years of starting boxing. He had all of the same flaws and strengths against Rosado that he did against Castano and he showed little to no adjustments between fights with Harrison. His competition has been poor.

He won his first title against a no-one when it was vacant, and won his other two against a bum who fluked a win over J Rock. His best win is Harrison, who's never gonna be mistaken for elite by any stretch of the imagination - who he also lost to - and he also arguably lost to Trout, Castano and although my memory is hazy on my actual card, I seem to remember thinking Vanes could've gotten a decision as well.

James he only has two fighters, both of which already knew exactly what they were doing technically and tactically before they turned pro, and have shown literally zero progression in years. I'm not saying James is a bad trainer or that anyone should sack him, but any trainer of the year talk is way over the top and completely undeserved - just as it was last year.

Darkie Smith stopping the Hatton Smith fight and looking like he was going to chin Mickey Vann, Hattons personal referee.

I think James is a pretty solid trainer. Spence is just too much into the celebrity life ever since he got with that IG model chick.

Charlo is a good fighter but just a bit limited. But he showed massive improvement with James as his trainer.

Yeah, I don’t buy that shit either. That’s just Jordan’s personality, and it worked in large part because of his incredible physical gifts and basketball IQ, and having arguably the greatest perimeter defender next to him. Sports has been around for a long time and has proven that different leadership styles work. Bill Russell was known to rarely ever criticize teammates. Joe Montana also.

There’s plenty of success stories of athletes being successful with parents who may push them but aren’t abusive. You can easily argue that Roy became great in spite of his father not because of him.
