If your pussy got hurt by my little post delete it . I'm not gonna bite into your race baiting comments either. Make of it what you want.
The most underrated element of the modern fight game is momentum. Most of the top fighters don't get the opportunity to build it. How do you build momentum by fighting once every 12 months? The lack of momentum magnifies every performance to the point where the last win (12 months before) and the first loss gets distorted and we build an unrealistic picture of a fighter's abilities in the interim. The same seems to happen in the fighter's minds as well. A guy who was 15-0 and went into his previous fight an underdog against someone else with very few fights who was considered the best or one of the best in the world is now considered untouchable in his very next fight. We're setting expectations that haven't been borne out in a really substantial and consistent way by what's happened in the ring. Easy to be wise after the fact but that's the way I see it.
It took Davis 8 rounds to do something Garcia did in like a minute and a half. They're power is at the very least comparable, and any evidence suggests Garcia hits harder.
My boxing brain gets hurt daily by the dumb shit you say, which I assure you I'm not alone in. You're the forum joke. And as George said, you started the race-baiting. And listen pussy, I could delete every post you put up if I wanted, but I wouldn't do that, because I dont believe in censorship. I let you spew your nonsensical posts, as long as you don't troll. But don't worry, I'm sure the day that you devolve into nothing more than a troll is coming.
MB is nothing special, but he was a undefeated, big junior welterweight in his prime. Selby is past his best days, and saw his prime at 126. And the end result was Tank puttin Barrios away, not a controversial decision. Lopez had Kambosos on the verge of going in the 10th, but couldn't close him out. I would say that Davis is arguably the second best finisher in the sport behind only Bud. I fully feel that Davis would put Kambosos away.
Come on my dude. Saying Vanilla Ice Plant is a wigger is not race baiting it's a fact. Maybe it wasn't the most PC thing to post. I threw the bait and sure enough Louis Farrakon bit .
Kambosis got in Lopez's head - he never looked comfortable with it all through the buildup. Then when he tried to blast Kambosis out but got blasted himself, followed by Kambosis yelling "I'm still here ya fuckin dickhead", he started to second guess himself big time. Then there's simply Kambosis himself. That overhand right over the jab was a nice shot, but I preferred his left hook counter or jab left hook combo - he barely missed with those all night. Made Lopez scared of the counter.
Fimo thought he had him in the 10th - I thought so too. Once Kam survived the 10th, and came back strong in the 11th, Lopez was officially mentally done. Unfortunate, as it was a very winnable fight for Fimo - all he had to do was show the early patience and composure he showed in the Commey fight. But he totally underestimated Kam, and fought like an idiot.
I still think Teofimo could come back and win a rematch against Kambosos but he needs to make changes. It’s clear he started believing his own hype. I think Lomachenko could beat Teo in a rematch, but I don’t see that fight happening. Shakur Stevenson is the best fighter from 130-135 lb range IMO. I think he beats all of these guys. Teo best off moving to 140 an rebuilding with a better corner.
Black people had no fuckin clue who Caleb Plant was until the Canelo fight was signed, and every black person I know who follows boxing was rooting for Canelo a few weeks ago - not Plant.
Loma is the best around there IMO, but Stevenson is second. Lopez needs to build a defence if he wants to fight at 140. Ramirez, Regis and Taylor destroy him if he fights like that.
Teo needs a confidence rebuilding fight in the spring, then maybe Teo vs Jose Ramirez as his second fight at 140. But if everyone is on board for one comeback fight, then straight to Teo vs Taylor, I won't complain.
Teo has the tools to beat Ramirez if he fights smart. Not sure if he can beat Prograis and Taylor, even if he brings his A-game. Even with his A-game, I don't see his defense ever being great, his chin isn't great, and he's cuttable. The pressure and body punching that Taylor/Prograis bring to the table figures to be way too much for him. What's very clear now is - 140 would be his limit. The thought of Teo ever being successful at 147 is a pipe dream with Ennis and Vergil on the scene. Boots and Ortiz would put Fimo in a coma.
Stevenson and Kambo have the same punching power so Stevenson could easily win a 10-2 decision against Teo
He either makes or breaks in his next fights. If he really wants to be successful and build his way back up in the right direction he really needs to get rid of his pissant father of a trainer. That would be a good start. He should just consider moving up and taking light touches before fighting the likes of Prograis, Ramirez, Taylor, Zepeda.
I rewatched the Commey fight this morning - Teo looked like a complete different fighter in that one. All due respect to Kam, he's a decent enough fighter, but he's gonna get overrated now, because he beat about 30% of the best Lopez. I think there's defensive holes in even the best Lopez though. Since Lopez is all buddy-buddy with Canelo, he should be humble enough to reach out to Canelo and ask Nelo to help him tighten his D. When Teo fights smart, he can overwhelm of guys with his offense alone. But against the elite guys who he doesn't a size advantage over, he can't overwhelm them with his offense. That's when his mediocre defense is gonna bite him in the ass. I hope the Lopez story has a happy ending, but history tells us it won't. Once ultra cocky guys like Lopez get humbled once, once their aura of invisibility is shattered, they tend to never be the same.
i agree he looked much slower saturday than in previous fights. was wondering if the delays interfered with his gear regiment. another possibility is that without tr, he did not get same gear. that said, he did land some of those short counters on kambos. they just didn't hurt him like they did others.
Did anyone notice when they announced the winner it was kind of confusing that even the ref raised Teo Fimo's hand. Before they read the winner they said "and still undefeated". That's why Fimo thought he won "11 to 2" because the ref did raise his hand. I thought it was funny but kind of cruel .
Lopez looked dumb. Big dumb facial expression and hard man body language. Why was he putting on this big man show?
Lopez and his outfit are plain dumb. I'm surprised he has ANY fans. Never mind what their racial orientation is.... He's just a small shit version of Mayorga..
As expected, people are now going overboard. Fimo isn't a bum. Hes still one of the most gifted fighters in the sport. He took a solid opponent extremely lightly and paid the price. But were some flaws exposed regardless? Yes. Will he ever reach the expectations many of us bestowed on him? Doubtful. But Lopez isn't a fraud. And if he is, then what does that say about everyone's favorite Ukranian diva?
He’s better than Mayorga. But it’s clear that he let the win over Loma get to his head. He’s young enough to improve with a proper trainer but is he willing to do that? I have my doubts.
I said awhile ago that I liked Boots' future better than Fimo's, because it appears Boots has his head on a lot straighter. And Boots' father is an actual teacher, not a piece of shit hypeman like Teo Sr.
