What happens to Fimo?

A lot of sociologists have referred to the phenomenon of the "Eternal Adolescent" in Western societies and I cannot think of many better examples than Mr Fimo Senior.

Somebody needs to tell him"you don't have a boxing career, you need to fuck off".

I often saw Peter Fury turn around and tell John Fury to "BE QUIET".

Imagine showing up at a gym like these guys do.

I don't know if he'd have beaten Mayorga at 147. I think Mayorga was an actual animal. Fimo wants to be like that, plays the part.

 

He's a lot worse than Angel.

Angel plays the heel because Danny is low-key and doesn't offer much in hyping fights.

Plus, Angel actually does deserve credit. Danny wasn't much of a talent, but Angel trained him to a solid career just based on his technical skills. Angel deserves props for his son being well-schooled. Moreover, Angel actually does give technical advice between rounds.

I'm sure Danny had a big head after he KOd Khan. But Angel probably told him not to fall for his own hype.

Teo Sr. is purely a hypeman. His son has gotten as far as he has on physical talent. He allowed and even encouraged his son to fall for his own hype. He's enabler.

 

I honestly couldn't comment on their ability as trainer but even a world class trainer isnt supposed to talk like these guys do.. Its not like they got huge stables. Msnny Steward didn't go around getting into people's grilles organizing shitty sparring sessions that got out of hand

I hate that the likes of Haney and Tank are talking shit like they've proven something by proxy. At the end of the day Teo called out and chased the guy who was at or near the top of the p4p pile, backed himself and won. He still deserves way more credit for doing that than these guys do for winning titles by email or whatever.

 

Lopez will win the rematch.

If he fights Josh in 2022, he deserves more respect, cause there's a legit chance Josh will beat his ass.

 

He would win a rematch, but there won't be one. He's moving to 140 and Kam is staying at 135.

 

I think Lopez has a very good chance of winning a rematch, like I say the talent is there, but I don't know if he has the patience or self-awareness to look at what he did wrong the first time and work out a way to correct it, especially with that twat in his corner.

Kambosos on the other hand does seem to have those intangibles that everyone talks about. He's never going to be an easy guy to put away and I like that, if you beat him you'll have to earn it.

 

I slept on Kambosos. Too fuckin tattooed and Strayan for my liking. Usually tough but dumb and manageable.

 

Lopez will be a killer at 140 if he prepares accordingly.

Him vs Tszyu would have been a classic.

 

Tszyu would fucking destroy Fimo. He has a favorable history against cocky dudes from Brooklyn.

 

I don't give much credence to any fighter from that part of the world until they actually prove it on a decent stage, purely because the talent pool is so shallow. I was impressed though, loved his willingness to trade inside and his left hook was quick. He will obviously lose in the future at some point but I get the feeling he's going to be one of those guys that'll be a really tough nut to crack, but once it happens he'll be easier to defeat from that point on.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if Haney played it super-safe and won a 120-108 snorefest against Kambosos, yet at the same time I could also see Kambosos taking Haney into a fight he didn't like and drowning him late on.

 

The odds of Haney shutting out Kam are extremely slim. Haney is nothing spectacular.

Stevenson would beat Kam in lopsided fashion, but Haney vs Kam is a competitive fight.

 

I can see both sides of it to be honest. It's not the same level obviously but I remember after Khan nearly got killed by Prescott, Prescott signed to fight Kevin Mitchell. Shitloads of people were saying Mitchell was going to get destroyed, but Mitchell put on something of a masterclass and whitewashed him. Again, this is a different level but my point is, whilst I don't think much of Haney, I do think style-wise I could see a similar thing happening.

 

I remember that fight well. Mitchell did box well against Prescott.

Mitchell was also expected to lose to John Murray, yet stopped him.

I would favor Haney over Kam, but I dont see a whitewash. Like 8-4 or 7-5 Haney sounds more likely to me.

Fortunately, we'll get the answer.

 

Oh damn bro you hit the nail on the head. It's crazy these vultures calling out Kambosos but weren't calling out Teofimo. Fuck them hope they both (Tank and Haney) get knocked out for looking past Pitbull and Jojo. Even Rayo touched on this on this ESN video/interview. For those who don't know who Rayo is that's Teofimo's other Daddy who knocked him out in sparring.

 

King Ryan is a non-factor.

Ryan beats Haney, IMO.

I think little of either of them, mind you.

Last time out, Haney was badly wobbled and didn't seem to have been able to truly figure out what the rotting corpse of Linares brought to the the table. Linares, with nothing but speed and power was able to be fairly competitive and badly hurt Haney.

Ryan has nothing but speed and power. But Haney has literally zero power. I'm actually quite surprised how somebody can be so athletic and yet have literally no force in them. Ryan dealt with a tidy southpaw last time out and has even less to fear from Haney in terms of power.

It wouldn't surprise me if Ryan lost every round then bombed Haney out.

Then again, I doubt it ever happens.

 

I'm not 100% convinced on a Haney-Garcia matchup either way. They fought multiple times in the amateurs, and the final tally was dead even. I think that indicates there's no clear answer either way on who wins.

Only thing that seems clear is Shakur is a better talent than both, and Shakur is less hyped than both.

 

Ryan beats Haney. Haney is another fucking moron.

Tank beats Garcia.

Lopez beats Tank at 140 when that fight finally happens.

 

That Fimo defense is too leaky for me to pick him over Davis.

He could be outboxing Davis for a number of rounds, but eventually Tank is gonna land with some big stuff that Lopez won't recover from.

Same can be said in reverse, though. Tank's defence is also pretty shit and Teo's a lot longer. I think Tank's seemingly superior chin is the deciding factor. Teo at fifteen held his own though in sparring with Tank. Doesn't mean much now, but it's all we've got from those to work with.

 

You don't have to be a great fighter to beat Davis but at a minimum you have to be disciplined and always alert. Maybe that was a one-off and Teo will have learned a lot. Lets hope. If it was Davis instead of Kambosos on Saturday Lopez would have gotten stretched.
