Roy, Toney, and Cotto have been inducted into the IBHOF class of 2022.

All three are deserving. Obviously, one of them is truly one of the best and greatest the sport has ever had. The other two belong, and it's nice to see Toney finally make it.

Wonder who gets in next year. Probably a lot guys who deserve it continue to get duped.

I predict that Tim Bradley will make it next year. I dont think he belongs at all, but I think he'll make it on popularity.

If there ever was a year to go to the induction it will be for this class which includes those 3 guys and the previous two classes as well that were postponed due to covid. Mosley, Hopkins, marquez, and Mayweather Jr. The lone drawback being the unjustified inclusion of wald pussy

Well deserve to them, great class of fighters. All were great and fun fighters to watch, so many memorable fights from all 3 of these legends.

    Marquez.

His "win" over Manny was a sham.

I mean, Tim getting in wouldn't be egregious. Problem is there's guys more deserving who aren't in yet.

The other day I was watching the Erick Morales/Marco Barrera podcast and they brought up a good point about Marquez being a cry baby that claims the judges and promoters were always against him and he never cherry picked like other Mexican champions(like Canelo). But Erick called him out for being full of shit. He's a so called 4 division champ but most of those were vacant or interim belts. The only time he beat a lineal champ was against Pacquio and it took him 4 fights and a lucky punch. Fuck Marquez he's so overrated.

I was wondering why it took Toney so long then I looked it up and realized he had a fight in 2017.

Let's bet on how many words we can understand from Toney's acceptance speech. Over/under is 5.5

All deserve to get in under any definition for HOF. Never a fan of Toney, but he is easily a HOFer.

He is indeed overrated based on having Manny's number.

If you take away his fluke win over legend Manny Pacquio suddenly his legacy doesn't seem that impressive. His claim of fame is being one of the few Mexicans to hold titles in 4 weight divisions. He won some interim and vacant titles. His first legit title was against an over the hill Manteca Medina who had already lost to all the elites at that time like Barrera and Morales. Lost to Freddie Norwood. Did beat Robbie Peden for another vacant belt. Had wins over mid level guys like Salido and Gainer. Then lost to Chris John and claimed he was robbed. Had wins over Rocky Juarez, Juan Diaz, Casamayor, Katsadis. Lost to Bradley and pacquio 2x and won a vacant ww title against Mike Alvarado to become a "4 division" champ.....it's kind of meh

Fluke win against Pac? Fuck off with that garbage. They fought four times. The first was a consensus tight fight. About half of those who saw it had Pac winning. Half had it for JMM. The second fight, absolutely no-one scored it for Pac. It was a clear win for JMM by consensus. 7-5 close but clear fight. The third was tight. Take your pick. The fourth was a brutal, ATG KO for JMM

    Real fluke, that.

JMM is a modern day great. He has about ten title wins that put him on his pedestal. His only clear loss was against Floyd, in a ridiculous weight mismatch. He had a tremendous fan friendly style and kicked the shit out of an ATG, at least twice.

Stick your 'overrated' shite. He's underrated. He'd wipe his arse with every fighter currently campaigning below 140 today and he'd give hell to Taylor, Crawford and Spence. It's time he got what he deserved IMO. The props of a champion.

The first pac fight wasnt 50/50. Most had it for Pacquiao. Agreed with the rest

Hopefully no cameras are on when he gives his speech.

If he's up there slurring away let's use the narrative that he was so excited about being inducted that he celebrated by overindulging in the champagne.

I dont see any humor in poking fun at a fighter slurring. Especially not this week, given the newest Don Curry news.

there's no doubt jmm's performances against pacquiao (all four) were defining. but pacquiao was the best fighter in the world. so how can that be overemphasized? plus, it wasn't a fluke. a fluke is buster douglas beating tyson in a once in a lifetime performance.

plus, i think you're underselling JMM's resume. we all know how good salido is and he didn't win a single round. diaz was the best lightweight at the time JMM fought him and he ko'd him! Having spent most of his career at that point at 126. And let's not forget how much MAB struggled with Juarez. He knocks out Casa. And Katsidis was considered dangerous at the time. I just think it's nutty to call him overrated

He has gotten worse that cte is no joke. But now that I think about it Toney was never an eloquent speaker he kind of slurred his words as far back as I can remember.

I'm pretty sure you've never seen the John fight to say that... He was robbed and was deducted 2 bullshit points (and still won the fight despite that). A case could be made he should have won the Norwood fight as well. He was competitive and won fights against contenders and champs in 4 division, I don't believe that qualifies as a "meh" career. I don't think anyone ranks him as the top mexican ever, but he was still a great fighter that was rarely involved in a bad fight.

Marquez pretty much pitched a shutout after the 1st round. The scoring was the best case Manny couldve gotten. Marquez by most accounts deserved the W.

He never was the most eloquent speaker but the decline in his speech is very evident.

I also wonder if his voice changed from cigar smoking, as he’s been known to enjoy them. But fortunately, he seems mentally sharp.
