I remember watching opening rounds of Chisora vs Whyte part One and Chisorah vs Parker and thinking "draw, every day". Literally 2 rounds out of 24 away from hundreds of quid. It was Chagaev vs Browne where I learned to cash out. I was making fortunes when Chagaev walked onto the greatest Punch that fat Doorman ever threw. Some of the big ones I won when I was your age were Tszyu vs Judah, Tito vs Hopkins and Lewis vs Rahman I. That was when you had to walk in and put the money down at the counter. Well I did cos I'd no credit card. One time I got on the bus to cruise down to the bookies and back Calzaghe to KO Veit in the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th rounds. Fight was over by the time I got there.
A large part of the reason I went on IPTV is because I won't pay to be insulted. That and how Big Tech generally behaves. I don't regard it as cheating as I'm never going to pay for it in the first instance anyways. Its the constant BS from promoters, networks and athletes. Danny Garcia was at it again this weekend. A C+ guy. Talking shit about how they "build you up to pull you down".... Fucking BS merchants. I used to lap it up when I was a kid. I don't claim any special genius or aptitude here. It just becomes apparent over time. What annoys me is HE KNOWS the answer... He alludes to it half way through. He blames "the people" but admits that Lopez took his eye off the ball and got "on his high horse"
I don't know what happens to Fimo but I know his retard father talking about moving up to 140 and challenging Taylor is not happening .....
Pay no attention to this interview. Josh is just saying that. Money talks. If Taylor can't land a Crawford fight, then Fimo is the only other big name he can face. If Lopez wins a comeback fight, then calls out Taylor, TR will offer Taylor enough money that he'll take the fight. It'd be his highest payday, and he'd be fighting a guy whom he dislikes, and whom he views as easy to beat. Of course he'll take the fight.
Quick question do you have any idea what the PPV numbers look like for the Lopez vs Kambosos fight? It was on Triller and Fite(UK) rigfht? My thing with Lopez is not that I don't think he's a decent fighter or that he can't bounce back from his loss against Kambosos. But I just don't think he's the PPV draw that some think he is. At the end of the day like you said money talks. And I suppose if Bob(Top Rank)offered Taylor a war chest full of money then Taylor would probably take the fight. But that's unlikely. Bob is cheap. He bitched and moaned about how much money he lost with Crawford's career(Porter vs Crawford only did 135k PPV buys). So I seriously doubt he would be eager to flush more money down the toilet on a Lopez-Taylor fight. Kurt did make some valid points... 1)Teofimo doesn't have an 0 on his record any more 2)No Undisputed 3)he's not a proven PPV star I get you like Teofimo and I'm not trying to rain on your parade but realistically You got to bring something to the table. And if it's only about money then I don't feel Lopez has much to offer Taylor. that's my two cents.
I'm not sure how reliable it is but Fagnon boxing Chanel dropped a new video about Bob saying Fimo has an esophagus injury from weight loss that could be career ending and may never fight again. Wouldn't wish that on Fimo as much as dislike his pops. Hope he recovers and fights again if any of this is true.
For one, I dont give a flying fuck about Teofimo or what happens to his career. Two, the Kambosos fight was on DAZN, so only DAZN is privy to how many ppl tuned in. Anecdotally, I can tell you that a few casuals I know watched it, so the fight did generate eyeballs. Fimo isn't a big star, but he would be by far the biggest name Josh has fought. If Fimo comes back and blows out a journeyman in his comeback, then Taylor-Lopez would draw a lot of eyeballs on ESPN.
It sounds like a bunch bullshit and a TR spin job in a effort to blow off the loss. But if it is true, I certainly hope Fimo gets better.
Say what you want about Bob. But he seems like a straight shooter no bs type of promoter. There's a video floating around where he calls Teo Fimo a schmuck to his face. I seriously doubt Arum would lie. There would nothing to gain from making up some bs story about a career ending injury. I can entertain some conspiracy theories. But this is so farfetched.
So Lopez suffered the "life-threatening esophagus injury" while training for Kambosos?! How was the fight allowed to go ahead then. Something smells funny. I think all is well and Lopez will be back in the ring in no time.
The kid could've died and still managed to dodge Satan's bullet and gut it out for 12 rounds against an able bodied foe, losing a narrow decision. You skeptical savages need to cut Lopez some slack
Nobody has an issue with Fimo losing. People have an issue because he's been acting like a pendejo about the loss. All the Hell his whining ass had to say was a very simple, "George was the better man tonight, but I'll be back better." But obviously it isn't in him to do that. He's come across as an excuse making, classless dickhead.
