Ironically this summer we spent like 1.5 million quid on some state of the art computer learning injury reduction software that was meant to pick up biomarkers predictive of injury so players could be rested when they were at highest risk. Almost as big a waste of money as James McCarthy.

 

I can picture it. Salesman presents some "state of the art" machine/software.

Buyer not only thinks they will be ahead of the game and are patting themselves on the back for being "innovative", they fear they'll be behind the curve if they don't buy it. Sales team preys on this and makes a huge commission.

It's sad and funny how the people who have access to the chequebook are usually the least knowledgeable about whatever it is they could be buying.

Just use buzz words like "efficiency", "streamlining", "modernization" or whatever, they like to hear, throw in some graphs/charts and they're sold.

Given their budget constraints (especially a few years back) i dont think they got enough credit for how solid a unit they made Rangers in europe - including from Rangers fans, who just seemed to take it for granted as if this was still 2003.
