Much will be made of Benn now I suppose, such is the natural order. But I don't see him beating the upper order guys. He needs to get to a title and invite efforts from smaller men coming up.
Unlike Crawford, since Spence doesn't blow-up in between fights (i think in my mind he walks around the MW limit) I could see him staying at welter for a while
It wouldn't be a big fight. Taylor is a nobody here, and Benn is seen a bit of a gimmick. DAZN and Sky aren't working together any time soon, neither.
He hasn't had any promotor here. He's only had one fight on national TV, and not one broadcaster showed his fight with Ramirez. It's a disgrace how he's been treated.
SHAMEFUL... 1st UNDISPUTED Scottish Champion Since Buchanan (Who EMBRACES Taylor from What REED's Read, No?), UNDEfuckingFEATED to Boot???...Taylor Has a COOL Yet COMBATIVE Way About Him, Which Typically RESONATES w/Fans.... REED GETS Why Andre Ward Never Resonated in the States, for Example, But Josh Taylor??? In the UK???... Strange and Disgraceful, Indeed... REED
He's just not promoted here. At all. He's had no platform to speak of. I don't know a single person outside of boxing who has even heard of him. MTF
Yeah the lack of promotion for Taylor over here has been utterly disgraceful. It was the same for Froch when he was taking on a murderers row. I think the Bute fight was the first one where he crossed over to the casuals. Taylor is with Sky now so hopefully it will be the same for him.
What is Josh's criminal record? I don't actually know to be fair. Is it for calling that bouncer an orange cunt?
From the Outside Looking In, UK (or Mexican) Boxing Fans Seem to Be THE Best in Our Sport… Even a Guy Like Kell Brook at Least APPEARED to Have a Fairly Rabid/Lively Fanbase the Night he Fought Errol Spence… The Notion of an Even More Accomplished, Undefeated Fighter Like Josh Taylor, Barely Causing a Ripple in the UK, is TRULY Hard to Fathom… Mind BOGGLED! REED
Exactly. Taylor got drunk, things got a bit heated and shit was said. Something to learn from. What he said was out of line, but he didn't kill anyone. He's got the right attitude when it comes to boxing. Confident, fiery and passionate, with a style to boot. He loves to fight. As Slice said above, he's with Sky now so hopefully he can cross over to the casuals.
I highly doubt it. AB probably thinks he still commands the same paydays now that he commanded in 2014, which will kill the fight before it even gets signed. I don't think we'll ever see Broner in with a world level guy again. I really don't. I predict he fights some journeyman, struggles with that journeyman, then gets locked up again. IF it does happen, Benn would stop him. Broner looked shot in his last fight, and that was over a year ago.
