How the mighty have fallen eh?

He did one of the ATG bits of TV with Spencer Oliver about 22,23 years ago. Hilarious

Guardian newspaper had an article abut that Sherrock girl who used to "hustle" male players in pubs and then tell them to "Google me".

    Gayest shite I ever read.

Anyways she got EDGED tonight. Hope she enjoyed it

Celtic's comeback was brilliant. The smoke and the noise really made it.

I am half Mexican (though according to ancestry.com, I'm more like 44% Mexican.)

    Never heard of it.

I assume his career will take the normal trajectory where he'll move from Celtic to Southampton before moving on to either Liverpool or Spurs :D

I watched the first two sets before passing out. The standard was high. Both firing in 180's and ton-plus checkouts. Wasn't surprised that Beaton won as he always had the advantage and looked more likely to win a leg. Sherrock wasn't great on her doubles during those opening sets.

I have only seen a couple of Sherrock's matches but she does seem to be a genuinely good standard. To be fair darts is a game where gender shouldn't really come into it at all. I usually watch the WC's but haven't seen any this year, who looks fav, Jimmy?

He'll be 27 this summer so I think he's probably too old for that trajectory already. Its def possible a epl or Spanish/German team might come in this summer but its not inevitable....and as airy fairy as this sounds the lad looks so ridiculously happy i think he might stay anyway

I hope he does tbf. I miss the days when you guys had Larsson, Hartson, Sutton etc and were a really competitive side. He's the kind of player you can build a team around.

Not everyone has played yet. Price and MVG haven't hit form yet. MVG was given a scare before switching it on. He missed a shedload of doubles early on. He needs to improve otherwise he's winning nowt. Price is going to be there or thereabouts. He's not liked much but you can't knock his ability to keep applying the pressure and win tournaments. He's coming off a recent tournament win, too. Anderson could go deep in the tournament, but I have my doubts with his mindset. There's a young Scottish player (William Borland), who hit an impressive 9-darter in a deciding leg to win his first round match. He could cause another surprise or two if he brings the same mentality.

I think we're looking at another complete shutdown of English football again in a week or two.

Price is a twat but a good player. I saw some of his title win last year.

MVG is weird for me, on his day he seems absolutely unplayable but he always seems like he has the potential to not turn up and lose a match he has no business losing. The field has vastly improved of course but I don't get the same sense of "this guy is NEVER losing" like you did with Taylor back in the day.

I agree with the MVG comment. To add, for me, it's like he can feel sorry for himself when things don't go his way and it shows in his face and body language. He can miss shit loads of doubles, like he did in his first round match early on. Think it was something like 12 missed doubles from 14 attempts.

Wright and Price are the ones to beat for me. Wright is another weird one too, though. When he's relaxed and in good spirits, he's awesome. But he can get really wound up and his game goes to shit.

It's looking that way. Can't be calling games off two hours before kick-off. That's a joke.

Auba might be out at Arsenal. Like just about everybody he's expressed a desire to play for RM one day. Not sure if the interest is or was mutual but with Mbappe presumably coming in next season that would be quite a duo at least in terms of pure speed.

Raymond Van Barneveld plays tonight. Last I saw he was awful and well past his best. James Wade plays too. He has the game, but not the head.

By the way, Jonny Clayton could go all the way and win it. He's in the mix for sure.

RvB is in better form than when he retired but nowhere near the form he was at his peak. He's come from being unranked at the start of the year to the cusp of the top 64, so he's had a good year back, in truth. He should have enough to win tonight. Wade is Wade. His record at the WC is shocking for a player with his major wins.

Clayton is the best player in the world this year and was a very generous 10-1 at the start. He's drawn to meet Price in the last 8 I think. If he wins that, he wins the lot imo.

Barney and Wade both won last night. Barney had little to worry about in his match. Wade needs to improve from what I read (missed his match), but they say it could have been a different story if his opponent had taken his chances.

I think if player A is given something to think about in the early stages of the tournament, where his opponent puts him under pressure so that he has to produce his best, it puts him in a better place mentally for the rest of the tournament. Compared to player B who just canters through the opening rounds and it's a piece of cake, where his opponent is unable to make it a game at all. I guess with player B, you don't know what he has in the locker until that time comes in the tournament when questions are asked of him.

I stuck a fiver on Clayton at 13/2 to win it outright.
