Very good. Underrated for long spells of his career. Probably a level below elite international class, though.

Defoe was excellent, I did find it weird he never played for one of the top clubs though. Pure natural goalscorer.

 

He might make it in the sense of some sort of Danny Ings or Lacazette sense. But he's not getting a look I for the Balon D'Or

Brian Laudrup had tremendous vision, though I know he was the lesser Laudrup.

 

I think Lewandowski is in the form of his life right now, I used to think he was overrated (except when he was at Dortmund) but despite Bayern's dominance he has been class, and he does it in Europe too.

Both about on about the same level - at their peak good enough to have been very, very good players in any team in any league (at least at the time when talent was less concentrated at the top) but a level below the upper echelon superstars. To make rough comparisons with guys from overlapping eras.....McStay was about as good as Gary McCallistar and McCoist not *quite* as good as Ian Rush.
