Speaking of Bruno, Tyson and Bruno are friends.

You start to see a common theme. People like Mike.

The Grand Rapids metrosexual doesn't seem to have as many friends in the boxing community.

 

Tyson Fury and Teofimo Lopez are pretty close by all accounts.

 

I think Louis and Robinson were friends.

 

They were, and for years Louis' best friend and idol was Holman Williams.

 

I dunno if they're super close, but Roy and Toney definitely like each other now.

There was bad blood going into their fight, but that's clearly gone now. They seem happy whenever they see each other.

 

Ike Quartey and Winky Wright have been friends for years.

Its my understanding that Oscar and Vargas are good friends now too.

 

Vargas is the type of guy who seems universally liked by all his boxing peers.

Well, Trinidad and Vargas still don't like each other to this day, but I think that's the one exception.

Vargas is friends with Tyson, Oscar, Hearns, and Chavez. I'm sure there's more.

 

Ricardo Lopez and Chavez were friends.

 

Toney and Michael Watson are friends as well. Toney spent Christmas with Watson and his family a few years ago.

You probably already know this but I remember watching a documentary on Tyson. As a teen ager him and Cus would sit around and watch hours of boxing film. Mike is like Bert Sugar a true boxing historian. Even on some of his rants he would name off guys like Sonny Liston and Jack Dempsey. He knew he was cut from the same cloth. No question he was one of the greatest hw Champs that ever lived.

 

I don't know if it's true but Bruno is considered like royalty back in the UK he's like a Black Knight or some shit. But didn't know Bruno was friends with Mike. Mike is a super popular fighter and most boxers respect him and admire his career.

Most people now don't remember Bruno as fondly as they do Lewis, and especially not as fondly as they do Hatton, Eubank and Benn.

 

Holyfield and Bowe are best buddies now.

Bowe and Holy never hated each other.

The only true dislike out the "Big 4" was Bowe and Lewis, and that aint changed. They still dislike each other.

 

When old Bowe confronted Lewis you can tell Bowe hates Lennox. Bowe's behavior is showing signs of cte. He goes into unexplained and unprovoked rage. Sad.

 

When I was young, I saw Bowe getting up Lewis' face after the first Holy fight, and thought that Bowe punked Lewis.

But watching it now, its the complete opposite. Lewis looks cool as a cucumber, and Bowe looks a bit rattled that he couldn't intimidate Lewis.

I think we all know at this point what would have happened.

Lewis would have fucked Bowe up. Lennox knew it. Rock Newman knew it. And deep down... Riddick knew it.

 

i dont know that at all. real good chance bowe KOs lewis back then if he showed up in the type of shape he was for the first holyfield fight. lewis was plenty vulnerable at that point.

as for holyfield and bowe being best friends, not buying that. bowe seemed real fond of holyfield but vice versa i didnt get that vibe when i saw them interacting in 2012 first hand.

 

It was Bowe's best chance, but Lewis on Ruddock form figures to be too much.

I never liked Bowe's chances of handling a Lewis, Tyson, or young Foreman type puncher.

I think those guys would've smoked him.

 

I heard that Hector Camacho and Julio Cesar Chavez were really good friends prior to Camacho’s death. I’m sure they drank beer together.

 

Joe Louis & Sonny Liston were friends.

Joe was also friends with John Henry Lewis and gave him a fight as a favor.

 

Sugar Ray Leonard and Wilfred Benitez appeared to be friends.
