I think it’s become a trend to underrate not only Trinidad, but a lot of the fighters of the yesteryears and pre-social media era.

It’s easy to pick apart Trinidad by pointing to his loss to Holpkins and his debatable win over De La Hoya but during that time, not only was Trinidad one of the best pound 4 pound fighters in the world, but his run at 147 and the way he dominated at 154 lbs was something seldom seen. Which brings up his performance against William Joppy, a solid guy at 160 who while he wasn’t a pound 4 pounder or anything, nobody destroyed him the way Tito did. Not even Hopkins (Though he did turn him into elephant man).

The version of Hopkins who beat Trinidad is a far better fighter than anyone Canelo has been against, including old man semi retired Floyd, and Golovkin. And a case can be made Canelo lost all 3 of those fights.

Obviously I wouldn’t say Tito blows Canelo away like he did Joppy at 160, but Canelo’s aggressive style plays into Trinidad’s hands due to him not being very mobile nor effective when put on his back foot.

Flashback...Roid Jones, Jr: The Steroid Scandal - Boxing Forum

REED's Searched High and Low and This is about as Good as he Can Find, a Series of Related Articles Contained in a BoxingScene Thread, But These are Mostly OPINION Pieces and Some Info Contradicts Info in Other Articles...

Specifically, One States B-Samples were Taken, Another Says B Samples WEREN'T Taken and Yet Another Says The Indiana Commission Took Samples from Roy's Next 2 Fights (Harding and Harmon), Which Both Came Back NEGATIVE...

What's Funny is Richard Hall HIMSELF is the One Who Leaked All of This in an Interview w/Bragging Rights Corner...But While Throwing Roy UNDER the Bus, Hall's Dumbass FAILED to Mention He ALSO Failed the SAME Drug Test...Per the Commission, Roy's "Levels" were 6x's the Legal Amount, Hall's were 10x's Higher...What Hall Did is the Equivalent of Showing the Police a Bank Robbery Video HE was a Part Of...

Roy Initially Blamed a Nasal Decongestant, Then Ripped Fuel...

What's Also Weird is the Indiana Commission ISN'T a "Testing Commission", Per One of the Articles, Yet They ADMINISTERED a Test Anyways???...Lot of WEIRDNESS w/This One, to Say the Least...

If anything from what I've seen in most boxing forums. In any mythical fights the atg/ legend will always win against current boxers. Most people put them on a pedestal.

Ward is a bad style for Canelo because he’s physically stronger and a better boxer.

Before the Canelo vs Plant fight Ward picked Plant to win by ko lol. He also trained with Plant for the Canelo fight. There seems to be some animosity between them. Canelo already said he would have no problem fighting Ward. Is Canelo vs Ward is a fight that could happen in 2022? Love to see how much better of a boxer Ward really is. But I doubt he has the cojones to come out of retirement and face Canelo.

Canelo fighting an old guy? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Old man? Andre Ward is 37 as a reference Hopkins beat Tito at 36. Just never understood why did Ward retire at 33? Prime age for a boxer imo.

Ward beat every top fighter at 168, and then beat the man at 175. In my mind, he didn't beat him the first time, but he did (mentally) break Kov in the rematch.

What more was there for Ward to do? And I say that as a guy who can't stand Ward.

I might also add that Ward badly wanted a Golovkin fight. Borat was scared shitless of him.

I agree I think GGG was scared of Ward. What's left for Ward? Big money fight. And the enticement of beating a future hof and putting another notch on his belt. You guys keep saying Ward was a better boxer and physically stronger than Canelo. So age would be Canelo's only advantage. I'd love to see it.

Or Maybe YOU'RE Just Sensitive When it Comes to Canelo Because HE'S a "Pale Mexican Fighter"???:Dont:...

When Sugar Ray Leonard ENFORCED a Catchweight of '68 on Don Lalonde, a Belt Holder @ '75, He was CRITICIZED...The Win was CHEAPENED and the Fact Leonard Also Got a VACANT Super Middleweight Title in the Process, was ABSURD...No One Thinks of Ray Leonard as a Former Super Middleweight/Light Heavyweight Champion, Yet he WAS...

When DeLa ENFORCED a Catchweight of 157 on Middleweight Champion, Bernard Hopkins, He was CRITICIZED...When Floyd ENFORCED a Catchweight of 152 on Canelo, He was CRITICIZED...

Leonard was the Marquee Fighter of His Day, DeLa His, Floyd His and Canelo is CURRENTLY the Straw Stirring Boxing's "Drink"...That Said, REED Doesn't Recall ANY of the Others Enforcing a REHYDRATION Clause....

In REED's Case, Canelo's NOT Criticized Because He's a "Pale Mexican Fighter", it's Because He Has Enough SWAY, Enough CONTROL, Enough PULL in Boxing to NOT Cheapen His Own Exploits...He Doesn't NEED to Constantly Stack the Deck in His Favor, & REED Ain't Even Referenced the Controversial Scorecards That Have ALL Favored Canelo...

Again, Leonard, DeLa and Floyd Swallowed the SAME Criticism...And Rightfully So...

Triple G was a WEIRD Ass Dude When it Came to Negotiations...

Openly Stated He'd Face Floyd as LOW as '54-'52, REFUSED Every Catchweight Canelo Offered Him Yet DEMANDED a Catchweight of '64 + the Bulk of the Purse, to Fight for Ward's Title @ '68...

There was a Time When Triple G LEGITIMATELY Was the "Most Feared Man in Boxing", But Now He's a a Guy Declining Bouts w/Charlo, Andrade, Derevyanchenko II, etc...

Ultimately, Triple G Pursued Canelo (Exclusively) to the DETRIMENT of His Boxing Legacy, in REED's Opinion...
