He's going to a Puerto Rican prison as a woman and child murderer.

He'll be begging for the death sentence this time next year.

Nah man, that's just shit you hear about in movies.

The vast vast majority of killers (regardless of whom they've killed) who are sentenced to life in prison go on to assimilate to prison culture, and end up dying as old men from some natural cause like cancer or heart disease. Odds are, thats exactly what'll happen to Pendejo.

He didn't deserve to live to be an old man.

 

He should definitely get it IMO.

This was a particularly BRUTAL and vicious murder. One that was clearly done in cold blood with malice intent. I had read somewhere that because she was still alive when she was thrown into the water that it somehow makes it a technicality, but i don’t think that should apply in this case.

They’re gonna try to make it a circus and try to blame the accomplice but it’s not gonna work. Ray Charles could see that he did it.

 

Because it’s a federal case, it’s likely he’s going to an American prison.

I heard they could be sending him to Colorado which is where El Chapo is being held.

 

Weirdly I had to do some research into life without parole sentences for work today and you're right, the majority seem to kind of get on with it. I find that absolutely bizarre though personally, I would 100% prefer to be put to death than KNOW that every day of the rest of my life is going to be exactly the same. Surely it must be even worse for an athlete in the prime of their life.

 

I’m obviously not there, but I can’t imagine Verdejo handling prison too well… He was always a bit of a mama’s boy to start with, and I’m pretty sure that he grew pretty accustomed to the celebrity life he was living before all this happened….

Aaron Hernandez anyone? I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if Verdejo was found dead in his cell one day.

 

Lethal injection has become a pretty gruesome, and agonizing means to an end. A life sentence remains the more attractive option.

I figure now that the death penalty is off the table, they’ll either try to pin the murder on the accomplice or maybe try an insanity plea… But I don’t see the latter working. This was clearly pre-meditated and deliberately done.

This will come down to who the jury believes but I don’t see it going Verdejo’s way. He has no shot at a walk here.
