The best I can say about Terry Norris' positive attributes is that he was one of the all time great combination punchers.

Norris really could work a guy over. His offense was fun to watch. Him against Tito in mid-90s would've been good.

    Trinidad would've executed Norris.

For fighters that aren't being dragged up in weight and specifically guys that have fought at 154lbs I think the best fighters Norris would have possibly beaten are Winky Wright, Vargas, ODLH. I would also favor him over Mayweather, Whitaker, and Chavez but mainly because he was the bigger fighter. McCallum, Benitez, Trinidad, and Hearns would have iced Norris.

Benitez would have knocked Norris out imo.

Wasn't it almost a done deal at some point? I vaguely remember they were on a collision course just before Norris lost to Mullings...

I think Norris is a better technician than De La Hoya but I fear he would get caught late with a left hook he can’t recover from. But if Oscar cannot catch him with something that significant, Norris wins a clear UD.

    Trinidad KOs Norris.

Norris would beat Vargas if he fights smart. If he gets caught up in the Vargas trash talk, he could potentially make a stupid mistake and get stopped, but it’s just me of those fights that he really shouldn’t lose. I think on song, Norris stops Vargas late.

Benitez schools Norris and stops him late.

Duran on form beats Norris up.

    Prime Leonard beats him bad.

    Hearns KOs him.

    Robinson KOs him.

Norris would school any of todays 154 or 147 pounders IMO. He’d especially be dominant against Charlo, Castaño, Harrison, and company.

I loved watching Norris throw combinations, but my god, did he have issues with following the rules of the sport.

“look, he’s on the ground, let me go hit him” (Walker looks like a fish out of water after the punch)

(after suffering a DQ loss against Walker)

“look, Leonard is failing, let me run across the ring and hit him when he’s down”

“Curry is down, how about i hit him again?”

“Waters is down, I’ll hit him behind the head”

“Oh look, there’s a referee calling break and speaking to Santana. Now’s a great time as any to hit him”

Norris could have EASILY gotten DQ'd in round 2 of the Leonard fight, especially because he hit a beloved legend while he was down.

He was extremely lucky that Mercante Jr. let him off with a warning - didn't even take points.

    Jones got DQ'd for less.

Literally, Terry Norris Treated “Boxing Matches” Like DOG FIGHTS - Kill or Be Killed:Dont:

Any Time an Opponent of His Was Compromised or Showed Any Signs of Weakness, Norris POUNCED On Wounded Prey…

One of the MEANER Fighters in Boxing History, for Certain…

    :Jest:

That fighting going the distance would have way higher odds than a DQ.

Norris and Qawi are two guys that come to mind when I think of mean, sadistic boxers.

Anyone who makes it to this level has a mean streak of sorts given the nature of the sport and what is required, but Terry & Dwight really looked like they enjoyed and savored beating up their opponents.

The Way Qawi Would SMILE @ Guys Mid-Fight was Particularly Sadistic...

Saad Muhammad was Boxing's Version of Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers Back Then, Coming Back from the Dead, Yet Qawi Grinned DEVILISHLY and Beat the Living Shit Out of Saad Twice...

Qawi was "Different" in the Way he OPENLY Enjoyed Fucking Foes Up, for Sure...

Dwight also really enjoyed pummeling poor Leon.

Probably because he was mad he couldn’t beat Michael.

I think I would make Norris a favorite over Winky.

Trinidad fought Troy Waters in 97’ at 154, I think it was a title eliminator for Norris’s WBC title. But I think Norris instead was planning on going down to 147 to fight Oscar, but lost to Mullings on the DLH/Rivera undercard.
