Classic case of a guy who reads his own press clippings and believes them. His dad couldn't train a cat to shit in a box. I cant see him generating any bit of longevity at the upper level. He's not a pfp stalwart. These guys would not have got work sparring in the 1950s. They need to STFU and develop their game. Getting dropped and beaten by the Kambosos of this earth is just not good enough for a guy who wants to be considered "Eleet"
Not really. It's not like he had cuts and a bloodied mouth. He got that bad eye injury that swelled. It was literally one side, one specific part of his face. He didn't have marks all over him. If Regis could have sliced him up he would have. Busting up is Vitali with 3,4 different cuts. Over the eye, the lip, under the eye. Or Raul Diaz vs Mullings or Campas.
Josh is the favorite, and deservedly so, but I'm not ready to call it some foregone conclusion. I wanna see how Fimo has recovered first. If he uses all the tools at his disposal, he is capable of beating Josh. Josh is not some unbeatable fighter. But as it stands right now, Taylor is the solid favorite.
He's fighting Tyrone McKenna next. McKenna is domestic level. Prograis will take him out whenever he chooses to.
I realize Lopez will be the underdog vs Taylor if that fight happens in the summer. And how much of a dog will depend on how he looks in a fight prior to that. I'm interested to see how he looks if it's zepeda. If he kos the guy brutally it will lessen the chance of a lucrative wager on him vs Taylor.
Yep. I knew it was wrong so I went on YouTube to check. I wound up gorging on old fights and fell asleep without correcting the post.
Even the Lopez who fought Loma wasn't good enough to beat Taylor. That Lopez isn't coming back. Taylor beats him up him bad. Far worse than Kambosos did.
Fimo isn't lacking in talent. It's his mindset and company that constitutes the biggest threat to his progress. Anyways... I fancy Loma to eek out a 12 round decision over "Clown Kambosos"
He probably isn't coming back, which is why I do favor Taylor. However, if he could summon up that same version again, it's not gonna be easy for Taylor. I don't hold Josh in the same regard you do.
I think anybody who can keep a long jab in Lopez face is going to give him problems. Lopez camp just doesn't strike me as the type of outfit who would even think they could be out jabbed or out boxed. They had ZERO regard for Kamboso. None. That's an internal problem that needs rectifying.
Even worse is that after this fight, they don’t seem to believe any changes are needed. They think they WON that fight and that the only thing needed is to move up in weight. I like Lopez but he’s really let the hype get to his head after the win over Loma. And even in that fight, it appeared to me that Loma had him figured out down the stretch. If Lopez doesn’t get real with himself, it could be all downhill from here.
i didnt think kambosos was worth regarding. the guy looked like a fucking bum vs mickey bey. obviously he improved some, and lopez was under prepared AND weakened at 135lbs. lopez is supposed to be joining reynosos camp.
Ohhhhhhh is that a fact? I think now we know the REAL reason why Ryan Garcia is out of the Reynoso camp. Lol
Good match up and should be an entertaining fight with Loma having the stylistic advantage. Part of me would have wanted to see Haney against Kambosos though, just so we would have another match up between 2 unbeaten young fighters with the winner fighting Lomachenko.
A fight between Lopez and Zepeda should be fun. Zepeda also has a chance to brutally KO Lopez as well.
I only think it's an easy pick if Lopez fights how he did against Kambosos. Taylor isn't gonna be afraid to counter him, and Lopez isn't surviving till the end against a barrage like the one Taylor will dish out. I do agree it's much, much better fight if Lopez returns to the prior form. Taylor could lose that one, but I'd still take him based on how as soon as Loma started throwing he started winning. Taylor's pressure is more impactful and he's bigger, tougher, and badder than Loma has ever been.
Oh wow its what I described: it's a bad, single injury..... Keith Mullings vs Ciarlante/Marquez Foreman vs Alex Stewart Vitali vs Lewis Byrd vs Wlad ..... These are busting-ups. Probably. But as I say if you fight stupid you get beaten stupid
Lopez was so weak at the weight he was throwing bombs as late as the tenth. He wasn't weak at the weight, that's just an excuse.
Yeah, Lopez could've taken Kambosos out with relative ease if he prepared for him properly and took him as a threat. If he worked on setting shots up and being more organised on the front foot, he'd have found Kambosos before the half way mark, and if he was more calculated in trying to finish him, he could've ended it there.
The fear is that Loma schools Kambos and then schools Fimo and then Fimo starts seeing the same shrink as Wilder
I'm not ready to call anything until Fimo's comeback. I wanna see how he reacts mentally to an L. As it stands at this moment, Josh is a solid favorite.
Not dead at the weight; however, his body is better suited for 140. Zepeda would be a great litmus test, but I dont think TR will do that. Too risky. They want Taylor-Lopez, and Zepeda might ruin it. Him coming back against Barboza is more likely.
