Archie Moore is up there and hasn't been said. Midget Wolgast could stray into that area as well.

 

i do. duran wasnt a pressure fighter as he went up in weight and displayed more versatility. gonzalez fights the same throughout his career and is more skilled than a young duran.

 

Gonzalez isn't a third as skilled as the Duran who beat Leonard. Nor is he half as talented.

Choco is a great, great fighter.

Duran is the best fighter ever.

Choco isn't nearly as skilled as mid 70s Duran, who had been become a masterful pressure fighter/boxer.

I get it, you like Choco, but don't be ridiculous.

He can't scrub Duran's balls. The gap in opposition and results is astronomical.

Duran is an obvious choice and was the first to come to mind.

One of, yes. Can't put him above Chavez, though.

Chavez was better offensively and defensively.

Choco's among the 5-10 most skilled pressure fighters post-Duran.

The thing that really put Duran so far ahead the likes of Chavez/Choco is that he was an insane athletic talent ON TOP of being supremely skilled.

So even with Choco and Chavez having flawless skill and technique, they lack the once in a lifetime natural talent Duran had.

 

I'd say Chavez has better defensive skills. In terms of offense I think they're close, although I gotta say I don't think I've seen Chavez throw the same amount of punches and combinations that Choc would dish out. I'm usually in awe when I see those punches flow in different angles from Choco.

It still amazes me that at age 34 going on 35 Choco still manages to look sensational. Especially for a fighter his size and with the style he has I would have figured he'd be fully diminished but he still looks sharp. Another proof why he's one of the best in this era.

 

I think Choco's more offensively gifted, or close to, but I think Chavez's offense was more effective, if that makes sense.

He also proved that effectiveness on a higher level, as Choco doesn't have anyone on his victim list as good as Rosario and Taylor. I mean, Estrada is damn solid, but I would never consider him in the same universe as Rosario and Taylor.

 

True. I don't think I've seen Choco face any speed demons like Taylor or Camacho, although I guess Cuadras would be the closest to it as far as fast fighters go. Not sure if Choc has beaten any punchers like Rosario before but he did face a killer puncher like Sor Rungvisai and we all know how that happened. Chavez beating up Rosario is still a thing of beauty to watch, and this is coming from someone who loves Chapo.

 

The Rungs fight is what makes me doubt that Choco could beat Khaosai Galaxy.

Don't get me wrong, at this point he's greater than Galaxy, but H2H at 115? I have very little doubt that Galaxy would be too strong and powerful.

 

Galaxy would KTFOd Gonzalez IMO.
