I'm only 5 mins, but fortunately Mike is holding Charlo's feet the fire, and asking him why he ain't fighting the top guys. Weirdly though, he introduces Charlo as "one of the greatest fighters of all time." The most overrated perimeter player of all time, aka Paul Pierce, is co-hosting with Mike and sucking Charlo's balls.
Charlo is one cappin ass MF! "Me and my brother aren't known for lettin people come up to us and say whatever to us. There would be a fight right there." #Laughs in Danny Jacobs*
Mike asking him repeatedly why he won't fight Benavidez. "He's not enough of a name." "It's not up to the fighters." LOL. Fuckin puta.
I came away from the interview thinking that Jermall has had a fraud of a career. I don't like either brother, but Jermell has demonstrated the greater desire to face quality fighters. It's very apparent that Jermall, for all his tough talk, is scared to death of Benavidez.
I used to think Jermall was the better of the two, but I definitely don't any more. Both have been massively beneficial of calculated match-making, home cooking and all round dodginess.
The only bone I'd throw Jermall is that I always thought he looked physically like a bad muthafucker.
Jermall has more talent. It's undeniable. He's a bigger puncher, has more explosive handspeed, and his chin is better. Jermell's more willing to test himself though. When Jermall destroyed J-Rock, he looked like a future P4Pder. But neither brother has managed to really make a dent on P4P lists.
Jermall just doesn’t have the desire to be great. He’s just content to wait for a big pay day. Jermell isn’t a great fighter but I do give him credit for at least testing himself against guys who are viewed as threats to him. Jermell will probably have a better legacy than Jermall when both their careers are over.
Jermall is weird. On the one hand I understand that boxing is a brutal unforgiving sport. Where you're only 1 or 2 loses away from being called a bum. Most boxers have to live off their earnings for the rest of their lives. I can understand looking for a big payday but he turned down a Canelo fight a couple years back so you can't even give him an excuse. The guy has zero hunger.
That was sad. Mike imploring him to call out other fighters to make something happen.. and he just sits there with a stupid grin on his face .. Ok.…let’s do this… CANELO!… mmmshmtjing… CANELO!! At this point Canelo should just be laying down the law. You want to fight me? Ok you 2 fight each other. Whoever comes out on top gets a shot at me. No, waiting around for years won’t get you shit. You want the big money, then fight. Oh you had a draw?? Fight again putas! You think you won? Well it didn’t look good to me, fight this guy too. The way that entire divisions FREEZE when there’s a sweepstakes fight in their midst is fucking sad.
It's the reason quartey and Trinidad never fought. In the end it worked out for both, sorta. More for Trinidad financially and legacy wise
Trinidad-Mosley was another one we missed out on. That fight should have happened in the summer of 2001 at 154 lbs.
