The scoreline reflects nothing.... At times A Becker was coming off his line and taking the piss. Cruyff turns, etc. Total chasm in terms not just of bare physical talent but also the intangibles like confidence and expression etc. United were dour, throwing shapes and full of phony bravado..

Bruno Fernandes was a case in point. He got rushed into booting the ball out then turned around to pout when the crowd laughed at him.

Im fucking tired listening to these pundits try to explain this stuff. They never got over losing the fear factor and when they got a dose of their own salts they didn't want it.

And what makes it all better is that United have hit rock bottom firing their money around. When Liverpool struggled it was with £2.5m this and £12m that.

The sympathy parade for United is a joke. They deserve nothing. No more stories about the owners. They've sent £1bn and won two cups.

Keane:- "Jesse Lingard coming on to save United? Should have left United two years ago. Rashford played like a child".

Again.... We've just witnessed footballing excellence and they are sat there trying to explain the shortcomings of United.

Keane absolutely apoplectic in the studio. Says United have "no soul".

I feel sorry for Keane at this stage. He's like a dad whos gone from angry to just giving up.:Jest: Liverpool had their lean years but I dont think the feeling was ever that the players just couldnt be arsed like it is here

Gary Neville thinks the "Core Business" of Manchester United Plc, limited by shares, is winning football games..

It is not. He's a fool. He wants people to think that the purpose of Man United PLC is to beat Liverpool PLC in 90 minute games.

His fucking rant about "the stadium is crumbling, the training ground is falling behind" is the very sort of rubbish you can expect from him when he becomes Mayor or MP.

No facts, just emotive blather determined to rack up hits and clicks and likes from mongs- albeit decent ones- who have long abandoned critical thinking if indeed they'd ever done any to begin with.

If United were top there'd be nary a bleat out of him.

It'd a fucking business and it's making money for the people who OWN IT.

He knows this. I know he knows this because I KNOW THIS.

    "That teams got nothing".

Cost billions mate. This isn't Liverpool being ripped off by Hicks and friends and Rafa bring given £2.5m after selling Sissoko for £5m.

The money is there. It has been for 10 years.

The problem is that you've lost Fergie working the media, nobody is scared of you, the others are getting it right.

Tbf their revenue - especially in relative terms- is plummeting due to their on field failure....long term their core business pretty much is being a successful football team. The next generation of east asian tv-flickers arent going to be man utd 'fans' at this rate!

Apparently they sacked their whole scouting team today. Sounds like a good first step.

It's desperation and blame-shifting did they fire them last season when they finished second? ...Mason Greenwood raped somebody. They sold Daniel James. That's nothing to do with scouting.. Every player they had out there last night is a talented player but they're greedy and lazy and aren't afraid of the manager. Totally removed from scouting.

    J

Case in point.... Look at the 5:40 mark of my video and then read below.

Neville piped Ronaldo aboard. Then he lumps Ronaldo in with Pogba and Sanchez as an ill advised glory-signing

He says the owners are bad but United will be around forever.

    He's just saying shit.

Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Manchester United: Gary Neville says Portuguese gives club hope of great season ahead

Right ok you can't keep getting beat or relegated I agree.

But their performances, placements etc have not been existentially bad.

If they had been then Liverpools form from 2009 to 2017 would have sunk us.

It's ironic, Neville says United's longterm wellbeing is guaranteed but that their long-term wellbeing is also under threat.

He's looking for a political scalp that won't affect him negatively and so the Glazers are it.

He'll never admit how much success was built on a compliant media and Fergie The Terrible.

Unfortunately he has a "retread" feel about him right now. A lot will depend on whether AP gets money this Summer.. I fear it will be a redux of "Whit? Rangers are poo ye don't need more money" but we shall see

I actually do think the board are...on board. In January Ange got exactly what he asked for and all 4 guys were wrapped up really early in the window. And im not sure Ange needs megabucks to improve the team - he knows exactly the type of attributes he wants in each role to fit the system and he's got a pretty wide net, particularly across Asia. All he needs is control.

McCarthy? He's just not gonna be part of it. He's lived the bhoyhood dream, if he wants to play fitbaw he should move on. He could do a team like Hibs a grand turn or maybe an embattled English championship team. The lad can still go and win a tackle with incredble aptitude...he just cannae do much else

Sounds like Wan Bissakka. Last ditch superhero, struggles in possession once he wins it.

Aye...tho to my eyes his biggest failing is when his teammates have possesion. He doesnt provide enough of an outlet playing out...he seems to hide in the 'cover shadow' an awful lot; then when he gets it he's *really* slow to turn and move so too often it goes sideways or backwards again. Ironically he's actually a surprisingly gifted passer : if he's got the game in front of him he can ping the odd unicorn of a through ball. But those are outlier moments & most of the time he just drains the pace and life out of us.

Oi Hut, should Celtic take out a massive mortgage and sign Harry Maguire? According to transfermarket his value is listed at 44 million. That's much less than United paid and now he has more experience.

I think yes and no. On one hand there certainly would be more desirable jobs but there's more upside than down. Beyond the big money if you look at how many managers United have gone through after Ferguson it's not likely to be a black mark if one can't make them into a powerhouse again. I think both outsiders and most of their fanbase have realized the problems go beyond the manager.

Then you have the addition of managing a "big club" on your resume. Seems that guarantees employment for life regardless of results nowadays.

Aye you're probably right- unless its an unmitigated disaster, it probably washes out as neutral or worst reputation wise. Even still...megabucks or not it doesnt look like a fun way to earn them right now! The whole club feels like a blackhole of negativity
