Damn my guy wasn't even alive when Tyson vs Lewis happened. Most of the posters here were probably posting on forums for years before you were even born.
The first Mayorga fight I put down to a fluke. Forrest in the post fight interview was saying how you have to stand and bang with a guy like Mayorga sometimes. The second fight proved that Mayorga was better than he looked. He was just an awkward power puncher who was usually always throwing combinations at you when he attacked or he was countering you with combinations. As bad as he looked, he was not a Carlos Maussa. He also allowed Forrest some free punches to the chin which had no effect and would have spooked Forrest a bit. The worst thing that can happen to a guy is to land his best punches directly to the chin and your opponent shows no effect. I have to rewatch that second fight but I remember thinking that Mayorga proved himself there and proved that the first fight was not really a fluke.
Bad news mate. Record is kept until you are aged 100 or die. You'll have problems with it mostly forever. MTF
Really? I thought it was struck off after 7 years? Is it maybe 'visible' to certain employers but not others....like if you're working with kids or applying for the polis or something?
Trust me, in England, it's right. The rules are different in Scotland. Records are deleted after specified periods. No-one whatsoever are deleted here. MTF
Basically, this is the basis of all my academic research and my PhD. I've spent ten years arguing that the police should be deleting records that they are legally obligated to retain. MTF
Yeah i think we've reached a point where if your past continues to fuck your future and merely nudges you back into the vortex then it needs to be deleted. I'd exclude Murder, Rape and organized fraud from any deletion, mind.
In fairness, my time in juvi for shoplifting and violence, so while not the most serious, I understand them not disappearing. I was just always told while going through the rehabilitation phase that they'd be wiped off when I turned of age.
MEET THE KHAN'S. And then rob them, presumably.. New series of Meet The Khans announced | The Bolton News
I've never been to Jail but my brother inlaw became a CO for a correctional facilty for under age boys. He said they are violent and they see lots of rapes among inmates. My advice for GC is don't drop the soap kid .
I've got a scar along my nose from when a razor got put through it. I was in juvi for 60 days and had a fight almost every day. I didn't hear of one instance of rape while I was there, although on the adult side of Stoke Heath, I heard they used to choke new guys unconscious and rape them while they slept.
In essence, yes. The police historically never kept all records forever because they never felt they needed to. They started doing it largely because computers allowed them to do it easily. They now claim that they are required for core policing purposes but they have never produced a single piece of evidence to support the proposition that, for example, a record which shows a teenage boy was cautioned for shoptheft thirty years ago somehow helps in the detection and prevention of crime. That's not surprising, because it just seems utterly illogical. Then add in the fact that records are now sold for about forty different purposes, including fucking over people who apply for jobs and voluntary positions, and I'm strongly in favour of making the police start deleting some records. MTF
Yeah they once had to have it all on w lazy Susan or collection of wooden boxes that nobody could be arsed going through....suddenly it's easy and lucrative and attracts the label, however ridiculous, of "safeguarding" or "protective". That's a bad combination....nothing gets abused faster than something valuable whose abuse can be passed off as worthy and proper.
Evidence : "community, safeguarding, protect the community, we all have to live together, the rights of others" etc. Smorgasbord of bollox and happy-talk passed off as serious thinking.
Aye, all bollocks. I mean, no-one sensible thinks that convicted sex offenders should be allowed to work in schools and we probably should keep an eye on murderers and other serious offenders. Records about that sort of thing can be kept and justifiably so. But the coppers here have almost 13 million criminal records. It's about one in five of the population. Every arrest, contact, suspicion, charge, caution, reprimand and warning is retained, along with all convictions. Most employers demand a 'clean' DBS check, so that's about 13 million people who are essentially barred from all kinds of work. It is hugely counterproductive. MTF
Anyone with money can get anything. Like our German anti-extremist friends getting dirt and passing it on to the Taylor Lorenzes of this World so that the information can serve the Greater Purpose.
It really is. The DBS refer to their users as 'customers' and have turned millions in profit every year since 2007. I subscribe to their monthly newsletter where they advertise their 'products'. Commodifying data which literally ruins lives. MTF
Of course but there is a difference between somebody with a lot of money and contacts accessing information from insiders and any random person willing to fork over a few dollars to collect dirt. It's not like the former is acceptable, but it's harder to prevent. There should be strict limits on what police can access let alone joe public.
