What would define an unmitigated disaster though? Not finish top 4? Spend £80m on the likes of a Harry Maguire? Get routed 9-0 by your (once) biggest rival?

    :Jest:

It would seem the only way it could be worse is if they get into a relegation battle. As of now they're only 3 points outside of a CL spot. Their resources are that massive they can be shite yet simultaneously manage to be so high in the table. I doubt Ten Haag somehow brings them down even further.

Good question - and when you look at it that way im edging back to where i started because almost any further regression would be a pretty unmitigated disaster!

Man U is a bad football club.

What Captain Obvious would say if he were still around.

Nice cameo for Origi, Merseyside's Robert Horry. Still can't see both Liverpool and City going 100% in the games remaining, I suspect the momentum arising from champions league sl legs will play a role

Tough run in for Everton...Chelsea, Leicester away, Arsenal away final day. Home games vs Watford & Palace look must-win. not looking too great

I know they are bigger clubs but all the talk about having a terrible season is around Man U and Arsenal. If you only look at the their table positions it's not actually that bad. Everton have only 8 wins out of 33 games thus far and as you say their remaining fixture list isn't pretty.

Historically im not even sure Everton are a smaller club albeit we're 30 full years of woeful drop off from them, now. Be interesting to see if the stadium move restores them to big dog status.

I refuse to ever cow to that. Man City still cant even sell out a semi final allocation vs LFC or a champions league match. Its pitiful

Borussia Dortmund has the highest attendance in Europe. Matters for not. Haaland will likely be playing for that very team with the pitiful attendance next season.

Well as the Celtic Song says: 'we don't care if we win lose or draw - what the hell do we care?' :D

Its not what matters in my book.

'For we only know that theres gonna be a show and the Glasgow Celtic will be there!'

And so will we, with our friends and family and fucking rejoicing in it. Im sure Dortmund fans will continue to, too. Man City's just hyperreality FC, the media image more real than what it depicts, fodder for Thai channel hoppers on their couch before their fave gameshow comes on. Stadium half full of tourists taking selfies....who does it matter to?

Maybe if i was a local fan attending the matches i would see it differently. It just bothers me seeing clubs constantly having their best players poached year after year. Perhaps the smaller clubs should sit out healthy players from time to time and make a statement to the press that they severely ruptured both their ACLs in training or something.

Legit have no idea how Real are still in this tie. It could be 8-2 City easily.

Here we go!! Young lad runs on to try and hug De Bruyneb and then another lad runs on with a flag. As pitch invasions go they were fairly banal stuff.

So so quiet at Etihad. If that was Anfield there'd be some fuckin noise at least. City are still winning, the away goals don't count extra and they're sat there quiet as Church mice. Daft morose gits.
