As soon as the fight was over I switched to the UfC main event. So I had no idea what was Canelo's post fight reaction. But I saw a clip of the post fight conference and I couldn't believe Canelo thought he won. As a Canelo fan I lost respect for him. He should man up and take his loss. Give his opponent credit who put on a Boxing clinic. The truth is Canelo looked pudgy, slow and powerless at 175. He needs to stop messing around and fight Charlo or Benevidez next(after a tune up). He had no answers for Bivol.

Canelo just too conservative. You can win that way against guys you're hurting consistently . Not against guys you're evenly matched with, physically.

 

And to think he was going to fight Usyk or Beterbiev. They'd have killled him.. He's a small 168lbr.....i knew he was never beating Calzone etc.

I think without the aid of PEDs, Canelo probably never goes past the 154-160 lb range. The lack of quality in the 168 lb division was another major reason as to why Canelo was able to win a title there.

 

Regardless of anybody’s thoughts on the war, this is a sporting event. Bivol should not be booed for what’s going on today.

 

There were good but limited fighters there who hadn't got the variety to deal with what he offered....he was maxxed out at 160 Vs Golovkin. Absolutely hit his credit limit. Then it's a lot of magic tricks and alcoholic fixes like Kovakev to keep the smoke and mirrors show going.

Vs Beevol he finally just ran into a guy with enough size and brains to compete with him.

Even then he was 1 round from a draw. Just gotta remember that. 1 round from a draw.

Looking at the two fighters , Canelo weight is in his traps and neck and midsection.

I know highlights can be a little deceiving but to me at least, that did not have the look of a 115-113 score…Basically, if Canelo won one more round they were gonna rob Bivol. Broken fuckin record, man. Broken fuckin record.

A lot of guys who fight Canelo tried to box him but didn’t have as you say, the ring IQ to do it properly. And also didn’t have the POWER to keep Canelo honest.

Canelo is not a fast paced type of guy, typically. He likes his fights to be at a more deliberate pace of which he can control. It’s easier to do that against guys whom can’t punch and don’t have good enough offensive skills to consistently land their own shots. But as I’ve said before, put Canelo in there with somebody who can back him up, and he’s just not very effective.

 

All three judges gave Canelo the first four rounds. Absolutely disgusting. Thankfully Bivol didn't let up at any point and got the victory he deserved.

 

Just disgraceful. They were absolutely gonna rob Bivol.

Wow. It sounds like maybe they decided to start giving a few rounds to Bivol to make it look good. Then he started winning them even more clearly so they had little choice but to keep doing so.

 

It’s almost as if the judges are INSTRUCTED to give Canelo 5 rounds before the fight even starts…

 

From what I saw Bivol's gloves will be sore today. Canelo was really landing a lot on those babies.

 

I predicted it would be boring. Had no interest in ordering it, but im pleased with the result.

 

Bivol is and always has been a good fighter, he's just boring to watch. He fought like the bigger man, which I hope bothers the likes of Callum Smith for their abject performances despite having the same advantages.
