Nunn would have thrashed Canelo. McCallum would have thrashed Canelo. Toney would have quite enjoyed beating the fuck outta him. The list goes on.
Canelo would be totally fucked in the 70s, and early 80s. Why? Because he'd be too big 160, and with no 168 around, he'd be in there at 175 with guys like Galindez, Conteh, Matt SM, Eddie MM, ect. I'll give you a hint... he wouldn't fare well. He'd lose to Rossman imo, nevermind the elites.
I think you guys are going too far now. Canelo is overrated, yes and yes, he'd get beaten clearly by the truly elites like Hagler and Monzon, but let's not pretend like he'd go out without a whimper like he's on the same level as someone like Juan Roldan. And come the fuck on. He isn't losing to Mike Rossman, and he isn't being stopped by Bernard Hopkins. Canelo would knock Rossman the fuck out. Canelo, and GGG too, aren't far off that level off Toney, McCallum, Kalambay, Nunn, etc. They are below them, but not by much.
It's no different than Trinidad moving up in weight and getting schooled by Hopkins. I bet all you papimuyenyos thought Trinidad would beat Hopkins than fight Roy. Tito was overrated.
Alright you fuckin lame, I tolerate your weird Roy obsession, but you starting to take racial jabs will get your sorry ass bounced from the general forum... to everyone's delight, I can assure you. Watch your fucking virgin ass mouth. Puerto Rock doesn't bother anyone. In 20+ years he's never had a single beef with a soul on here. Talk to him with some fucking respect, you no pussy getting loser. Trust me, I would take great pleasure in deleting every piece of garbage post you put up. Don't tempt me...
Trinidad was a better fighter than Canelo, if we're talking both at their peaks. Canelo has simply carried higher weight classes better.
If Canelo got to the ropes like Yory Boy did, I can see him drop Tito coming 8n but I can see Tito get up and take him out like he did Yory Boy against the ropes.
A major reason Canelo would struggle with Tito is that on top of having T-Rex arms, he has no jab. He’s decent at slipping punches at mid range but that would likely play into Trinidad’s game.
I'm just looking at Bivols straight arm punching. That's all it is....just straight shots and they're landing and hurting. We've seen a lot of guys who could and did land better shots.
He's got no volume......if he could put it on Tito, he could do serious damage to those arms and midsection. But he can't do it often enough. And when he's not punching, he's not exactly Willy Pep, so he's getting hit.
Canelo holds a shot well, as proven against Golovkin. But Gennady doesn’t have the offensive variety of Tito. Trinidad threw quick combinations of punches with a deadly mix of hooks and uppercuts with either hand, and he’d also have pushed Canelo back consistently which I’ve always felt is the key to rendering his offense ineffective. Canelo likes to stand at mid range, work but he’s going to be TAKING a lot against a guy who delivers every punch with real zip.
Nah, not even. Canelo had better steroids that let him stay at a lower weight class. Once he filled out, he couldn't even move up one weight class.
All of a sudden everyone and their momma beats Canelo . Canelo ain't losing to no God damn Tito Trinidad at 160 give me a break. I can see a focused Canelo coming down to 168 next and knocking out Golovkin and knocking out Charlo or benevidez next and this will all be forgotten and written off as a good big man beating up a good little man.
I mean Golovkin is old now. Canelo not stopping Golovkin can be excused but not being able to stop Chavez Jr or an undersized Cotto is very telling… No way he’s stopping Trinidad.
BTW just for the record I'm Mexican no disrespect to Puerto Rican Brothers despite what x says. I'm a big Tito fan. One of my favorite fighters back in the day. I said papimunyenyo as a term of endearment jejeje.
