I hope people don't think I hate the guy....if he was 40-7 I would say a lot less..it's all about how he's been getting away with it, that's what wrecks me.

I don't hate Canelo. I hate Wilder, Oscar, Wald, but not really Canelo.

His fanbase is delusional though. I told you, a guy on YouTube just said he would have beaten Hagler.

HOW??? Fucking HOWWW does Canelo beat Hagler??? Can't even beat Lara.

He might have had success with the slow aged version that fought SRL.

BUT he probably looks like Sibson in there

I think Minter would have embarassed Canelo until Minter started to bleed.

Haglers right hand would be laser guided in there....that right arm would be piston like....just finding that big ginger head over and over.

As it happens, I actually quite like Canelo despite all the shady shit.

I always look forward to his fights.

Even 87 Marvin whips his ass.

Canelo dont have the speed of Leonard, and he doesn't have the power of Mugabi.

The short arms thing is important, because Hagler wasn't much taller than Canelo, but Marvin had an extremely long reach.

Plus, if we use a young Hagler, Marvin was just a fuck of a lot more athletic and fluid than Nelo. A different tier talent entirely.

I like watching him train, especially when KingRy shows up and leaves abruptly after Canelo shows him how easy he is to hit....

To make a football analogy, Canelo is essentially Bruno Fernandes.

    Hagler is Maradona.

I think Canelo has a good chin. He withstood some hard shots from Golovkin. But by the time he fought Canelo he was a bit long in the tooth and didn’t have the stamina to really keep up the attack.

Only viable payday left for Brook would be a matchup in the states against Thurman. That's both winnable for Brook, and would be a nice chunk of change.

But good for him for going out with a dominant win over his arch rival.

I think Hopkins would stop him simply because Hopkins would lose respect for him. He stayed respectful of Tito's power, but Canelo simply don't hit like Tito.

By the late rounds, prime B-Hop would start backing Canelo up and teeing off on him, with no real fear of the return fire, because Canelo can't hurt a prime Hopkins.

Nobody is arguing that Canelo is an all time great or a generational talent. I said he's not a good fighter but a great fighter. You don't become a 4 division champion and an undisputed fighter unless you're great. Canelo is 31 years old. Please name one fighter that is 31 years or less that has accomplished more then Canelo? You have to compare him to his peers. Has Canelo accomplished more than Charlo and Andrade? Has Canelo accomplished more than Spence and Crawford? You can't pick and choose or compare him to people from the past to show he's not great. The only thing we can ask from a fighter is that they fight the very best fights that are available. Comparing him to Hopkins or Trinidad is flawed thinking. Why? Because Canelo's is an active fighter. You can't put a cap on his career. He can still fight for another 5 to 7 years and then we'll see if guys like Spence, Charlo, Ennis and Davis accomplish what Canelo has accomplished. Who knows if he's smart he may even surpass Trinidad and Hopkins. We don't know.

The fuck do any of those fighters (black fighters, how convenient) have anything to do with Canelo, or the context we're talking about him in?

From that list, only Boots is possibly a generational fighter. We'll have to see.

Spence would have to beat Bud to surpass Canelo's career. He might, but I don't think he will.

Charlo and Tank are trash. Canelo's a much higher caliber fighter than those two, but that's completely besides the point we're trying to make.

And no, Canelo has zero chance of surpassing Hopkins in terms of greatness. It is an impossibility.

His midget ass won't be dominating into his late 30s. By then, he'll have outgrown 168, and they'll be younger and MORE talented guys than Bivol around to slap him about.

Right now is as good as it's ever gonna get for Nelo.

I'm comparing Canelo to the best fighters of his generation. Spence and Crawford are rated highly on everyone's p4p list and are older than Canelo by one or 2 years but haven't accomplished a fraction of what Canelo has done in terms of legacy. Is Crawford a great fighter? Is Spence a great fighter? I think they are great talents well on their way to become great fighters. All the fighters I've mentioned are roughly Canelos age and are also the top stars in boxing. That's why I brought them up no cause they're black. You have have chip on your shoulder.

That's your opinion not facts. He has options. Like move back down and beat some good names to solidify his legacy. Remember everyone wrote off Foreman when he lost to Ali and then came back and became the oldest hw camp. Fuck what you feel are limitations of another man. That's just your loser mentality.

Ohhh shut the Hell about that last sentence. You make black digs all the goddamn time. Don't play all passive aggressive and act like you don't know what you're saying. Loma, Usyk, and Inoue are also fighters of this generation, but you conveniently left them off because they don't fit your agenda of fighters to diminish.

No one... no one at all would have an issue if you were just stacking Canelo up to Spence and Bud.

We don't take you seriously because you compare Canelo to Roy fucking Jones, one of the best fighters to ever put on gloves.

Lol. Youre getting very sensitive, bitch boy. Youre getting all emotional about it when I'm just using logic.

Canelo won't age like Hop. His physical limitations won't allow him to. The blueprint to beat him is also not complicated.

Use your brain instead of your heart... or I should say your dick.

Okay let me ask you this. Let's use an analogy you can understand as a Tyson fan. I think we can all agree Ali and Tyson are both great fighters. But even among greats there are levels. Ali because of his resume, heart, determination, and in fighting other greats and actually beating them is head and shoulders above Tyson. That's an undisputable fact. But very few would ever argue that Tyson is not a great fighter. Just because he never had a name like Foreman or Fraizer or Liston on his Resume and cos Tyson's best win was Spinks. Maybe Razor Ruddock and an old Flabby Larry Holmes doesn't mean he's not great. He did lose to Buster Douglas in his prime, lost to Holyfield and Lewis. Again still a great fighter. Obviously Tyson is greater than Canelo but still when it's all said and done if Marquez and Chavez were great fighters so will Canelo.

There's no one around for Canelo to beat ever elevate him to Chavez level.

Hes also never surpassing Chavez because JCC was a helluva lot more dominant. And just purely as a fighter, Chavez was better by quite a distance.

Watching Hopkins vs Johnson now. I think if anybody needs a performance to refer to, this is the one.

He smokes Canelo. He simply has too much all around game for him(Boxing at distance, brawling, counter punching, inside fighting). The only advantage Canelo has over him is power, but he doesn’t have enough of it to deter B-Hop. And he’s not quick enough on his feet to give effective movement and angles, and he doesn’t have the stamina to hang in there with him. If he tries to win the fight, he would eventually get stopped one way or another. If he gives up and goes into a shell, he can last the distance.

Yeah I don’t see how Canelo would make this one too competitive. Just not a good style match up for him.

I was thinking about it, I think Jones is probably the most dangerous middle ever. He's top five for power, and is no less than top three for ability. If he was more aggressively minded, he'd have massacred a helluva lot of guys. He did anyway.

If anyone was going to stop Canelo, it's Roy.

I will say this about Roy. He was a good guy. Seeing his friend Gerald in a vegetable state had quite an impact on him. After that he lost his killer instinct. He didn't enjoy putting a beating and hurting his opponents the way some guys do. Then he became a bore fighting Cops and Garbage men.

That's a fallacy and there's absolutely nothing to back it. His most devastating performances came POST-Benn-McClellan.

If Canelo chill with the moving up in weight abs fight Charlo and Benavides in the next 12-18 months it will do more to enhance his legacy than the last 3-4 yrs of fight Plants, smiths, bivol and Avnis etc…

keep his chunky ass on the gym maybe in 3-4 yrs catch some 47/54 pounder wanting to move up to middle…Boots is a big guy who won’t be 147 for much longer…
