If you could be in the front row for one fight in the history of boxing

I would hate to watch a fight on a Monday night because I like have to a get together with friends, drink beer, eat some wings, etc. Just feels like a Saturday night thing for me. It would be too hard to wake up at 6 AM the next day for work.

 

dont lie, they couldve watched Jack Johnson vs Jess Willard during the time it takes you to get from first to third.

 

Probably could. It would still be more entertaining than the bullshit you keep coming up with.

 

You might have been able to as well because they only sold about 10,000 tickets for a 40,00 seater arena.

 

Got to be Pryor-Arguello 1 for me. My all-time favourite fight, one of the best of all-time, a highly anticipated matchup in an electric atmosphere. The contrast in fighting styles and perosnalities, Arguello as effectively the home fighter in Miami and fan favourite against the upstart and antagonistic defending champion who was really the challenger in this fight. Pryor rising to the occasion and giving the best performance of his career against an ATG going for history (world title in a fourth weight division) who gave everything too but couldn’t break Pryor no matter what he threw at him. Would have been incredible to be there.

 

I agree. Being from California we are spoiled to have fights start at a good time to have BBQ and fight parties. I can't imagine being a fight fan living in UK watching fights at 6am. That's dedication .

 

That's pretty wild now that I think about it... watching a main event at 9pm or so... damn you bastards lucky.. I'm Atlantic time

 

That’s one thing I miss about Cali. The fights would start early.

 

Yup its 6:30 and just enjoying the Showtime undercard mexico vs puerto rico classic(Gonzales vs Rivera)

 

That's not what I remember reading in the newspapers, but I digress.

 

The bottle with 'the mix' was also a factor.

 

Leonard vs Duran in Montreal was also a great atmosphere.

 

You know what, it may have been that King ended up giving away tickets or dropping the price to bring people in, I can’t remember. Not that it matters - phenomenal fight!
