Finals do that. Liverpool's last two in Europe were nowhere near their best efforts in those respective seasons.

Sometimes that just happens in a final. Nerves, overthinking things etc.

That entire outfit were good at beating up Hull or Villa in Cup Finals but basically fell over against anyone if substance.

This is true for sure, but his class was always there. His performance against Belgium in the 2016 Euros is legit one of the best midfield performances I've seen. Injuries held him back.

Rangers fans are ripping Kent for missing that one in front of goal that would have won it. Calling him the worst finisher in all of football. I've watched quite a few Rangers matches this year - it's accurate. He has pace, and has decent trickery, but he is a WOEFUL goal scorer. And if a winger can't score, and he's not much of a creator, the fuck good is he?

He's just an average player in an average team . If it's Salah or Haaland or MBoppy they'd have a point. By the way that shot of his took TWO deflections. He should have had a corner.

Nah Manchester was like that before they got there :Jest:

I'd strongly strongly advise them not to fuck around in Spain....the Guardia Civil are renowned for helping fucker-abouters become finder-outers.

This isn't London, they don't care about the human rights of people breaking their town up.

Salah, Haaland, and Mpabbe are probably the three best players on Earth. Wouldn't have taken a guy on their level to finish that.

Kyogo would have put it away.

Rangers really caught lighting in a bottle. Its unlikely they'll get this deep again for awhile.

Anything is possible in cup football but it's like anything else, you need a huge number of things to go in your favour one after another. The better you are the less of a perfect sequence you need and all bias aside, Rangers are just NOT a big club or a great side.

Last night was Gettysburg for them. If they win, it's Shangri La. Lose, and it is right back down into the abyss of also-rans.

I think it was McDogg who said Rangers are indeed a great club, but they're great in the same the Luftwaffe are :Jest:

Not trying to piss anyone off, because right now Celtic are clearly a better side than Rangers, the league is always the best indicator for that, but Rangers weirdly seem better equipped for progressing in Europe. They've been solid in the last two seasons where as Celtic it has to be said have been rather poor. I'm not sure if it's the system they play or what, but it's true. Tbf as Hut has pointed out they were still trying to get used to the new style of play so maybe they'll be better next season. Another strange thing is Rangers knocked out the teams that finished 2nd and 4th in the Bundesliga and lost to the team that finished 11th :Jest:

The teams that lost to Rangers all under-performed including Eintracht in the final. Very odd when it comes to multiple matches. From what i saw of the games nothing stood out tactically or on an individual basis that pointed to a clear reason for their wins. I also don't pay much attention any more so i'm probably missing something. Whatever the case they managed to get the results.

Gerrard did huge work at Rangers. He really instilled a know-how on hiw to deal with one-off games which im sure he picked up under Benitez.
