This thread isn't meant to bring controversy. The fact is, a good percentage of greats in history have been Black or Latin. Who are some of your favorite white fighters in history? For me: 1. Marciano: By far my favorite. Really, Marciano is my 4th favorite heavyweight of all time behind Mike, Ali, and Louis. 2. Kovalev: Even though his career ended his shambles, I never stopped being a fan. 3. Kessler: All the legacy posters will know that I was always a very big Kessler fan. 4. Greg Haugen: Big Haugen fan. 5. Jeff Harding: Random one, but yeah, big fan of Harding.
I grew to appreciate Joe Calzaghe later on in his career. Sergio Martinez was fun to watch. Today, I like Kambosos. Hopefully he beats Haney.

REED was 9, 10 Years Old When CBS Started Regularly Showing Mancini Fights - the Story of His Father Being a Contender Who Went Off to War, NEVER Got His Title Shot..."Boom Boom's" SOLE Mission was to Get the World Title his Ol' Man NEVER Got the Chance to Fight for and that Shit Resonated LIKE FUCK w/REED... But the 1st Round KO of Art Frias, SNOT Glob on his Face and All, was a PRICELESS Moment..."Boom Boom" Made His and His Ol' Man's Dream Come TRUE...Dope Shit... REED
Nowaday, I can't say I develop a whole lot of attachment to any fighters but I would in my younger days. Davey Hilton - even though he was a piece of shit he's basically the one (with Tyson and Golota) who got me started into boxing. Kovalev - also a piece of shit outside the ring , but I liked his no nonense style and his willingness to fight anyone. Golota - Can't say I really cared about him in his later years but his fights with Bowe and Grant are one of the main reasons why I started following boxing. Tommy Morrison - Exciting style with movie star look. Quite a shame what happened to him and a textbook example on how to ruin everything in spite of having it all. In recent years, I's probably pick Lomashenko though once again, can't say it really bothers mer whether he wins or loses. Edit: for current fighters, definitely Fury too, though his constant retirement talk is getting a bit tiresome ...
I would also say that Lomachenko, Usyk, and Fury are my favorite white boxers, if we are gonna mention currently active fighters. Yeah people do overrate them from time to time but they are a real pleasure to watch. Carlo Froch should also be mentioned. Very entertaining fighter with heart and toughness who made the most out of his talents. Underrated skills too. I’m also having a huge appreciation for Clarence Bones Adam’s. His skills when he’s on point is something to admire.
Even though he wasn't a contender thunder Gatti was my favorite white fighter. Win or lose he was going to bleed. Honorable to metión Pocket Rocket McCallough Angel Mandreddy Canelo
He didn't have it all. A chin was one thing he seemed to be lacking but I take your point, he could have done a lot lot more. Today, I'm certain of it, with the good looks - and young Morrisson had legitimate Hollywood looks- and social media, he'd be a huge huge star. I think he could have been the first legit billion dollar athlete. Imagine if Tommy was making his debut and somebody like Jake Paul tried to snack on him. Timmmbeerrrrr!!!
He might be Rican but he had white skin blue eyes and a red beard...and lost evety big fight he had. Hes white
Yeah but the ' problem' in those kind of list if we consider Canelo, ODLH, Martinez or Manfredy as white (even though their are definitely of European origin) is that we might as well also include JCC, JMM, Duran and a lot of other Hispanic fighters too, and they would probably monopolize most people's list. I mean in theory, sure they should be included but I understand Xplosive's point in removing them. Edit: but what about Hispanic fighters from Spain ?? thank god there are not a whole lot of them
Castillejo, who was a decent boxer. Gave Vargas , Millings, Boudouani good fights. Fought Oscar but was broadly outclassed over 12. Augustine "Augie" Sanchez also claimed that his lineage was entirely from Spain, not Mexico. He was poor....had a horrid chin and was brutally iced by the same shots from Hamed that had bounced off the toughest fighter of his era, White or any Colour, Wayne McCullough.
Don't know if anybody heard of a guy called Bruno Girard. Made Sven Ottke look like Julian Jackson. He came over to the USA as a total total underdog for newly crowned Byron Mitchell and in a classic encounter of puncher Vs non-puncher, threatened, as Ring Magazine recalled, to "wear Mitchell down to the nub". The article then concluded by saying that Girard "didn't deserve the decision" (the fight ended in a draw over 12) as he hadn't "earned the title fight in the first place". Which has to be THE DUMBEST reason to not award a decision to a fighter. Mitchell brought him in as a Euroscrub to bash him up and build on the momentum of the Lyle fight The fight wasn't a classic in any entertainment sense but Girard was like Vito the Mosquito in that he just wouldn't give Mitchell a moments rest. He literally ground Mitchell to a standstill on sheer grit. I remember back then, over 20 years ago, it was common place to read all the old tropes about white fighters getting undeserved title shots and all the old clichés about black fighters being ripped off. But I didn't see it in the Tiberi Vs Toney, Schulz Vs Foreman or Mitchell Vs Girard fights. Then there was the big one, Oscar Vs Sturm....Sturm might as well not have bothered FFS..
Someone Mentioned Triple G, but he's MORE of the Asian Persuasion, in REED's Opinion...Triple G's as "White" as Kostya Tszyu Is...Or Dmitry Bivol, for that Matter... REED
